You made me realize I only have 6 years before he gets a learners permit. Crud. I might need to rent out 3 storage units when he turns 16.

For some reason, I don't picture any of them parked very much. I'm picturing you jumping a bridge with them. Something like what happens at the 4:20 mark in this clip:

DAWG 09-23-2012 12:34 AM

lol
just gonna have to get a 6 car garage attached to the new house!!!!

That is an awesome idea.

It was a pretty good day at Celebrate Granby with the small car show there.

There were a lot of people that liked to hang out near the Camaro and talk.

Rebecca Lobo (former UConn & WNBA player) and her husband Steve Rushin (Sports Illustrated columnist) hung out near the car for a while with their kids. Steve is the one looking at the back of the car and Rebecca is with the kids.

I think Steve liked the car.

Get used to it, its sex on wheels.

jeff68 09-23-2012 01:56 AM

David-
You really had a great day for the Granby car show. I was going to stop by the show for a while with the Rover, but the web site said that you had to commit have your car there from 11am to 6pm. Maybe that's why there wasn't a huge turnout.

Hope to see you over at the fly-in tomorrow. I'll be there from around 10am until 1pm. The LR should be down by the runway with the military display. If I'm not with the vehicle, you & Alex are more than welcome to jump in the Rover and check it out (and I truly mean that!).

Sounds good. Hope to see you there.

It's been great so far, except that the tire is still hitting the rear wheel trim on the passenger side.

IROCs are beautiful cars!!!

edit: Also, my first car was a second-gen (a 1980 Z/28). It would be cool if Alex's first car was a third-gen.

DavidS 09-23-2012 09:11 PM

Congrats Jeff for winning a trophy with the Land Rover at the Simsbury Fly-in!

Also, THANKS to Alex for delivering the hats! They look terrific.

Formula413 09-23-2012 10:34 PM

No problem David, good to see you and the car today, words can't do that car justice, it is amazing. And good to meet you Jeff, nice Rover!

ILuvPizzaTimes10 09-24-2012 01:58 AM

Thanks! I have some engraved award mugs, but this was my first actual trophy! It impressed the heck out of my kids. My wife - well, not so much.

I'll second this motion. If you get a chance to see David's car in person, then go and check it out. Pictures don't do it any justice. It is a very nice car!

I had some pictures taken by a much better photographer than me. I'll post them up when he sends me the high res versions.

DavidS 10-24-2012 08:53 PM

Thanks Frank!

The car is back in Mike's shop. They bench tested the blower motor, but after everything was put back together it was making a lot of noise and no air pressure. It sucks that the passenger side front fender has to come off to replace the blower motor.

The fender doesn't have to come off. I've replaced them before with just taking off the front tire and lowering out the inner fenderwell. Much easier than the fender and less chance of scratching stuff up too!

Thanks!!! I did a bunch of searches on camaros.net and saw where people loosen the inner fender well and then put a 2 x 4 between the inner and outer fenders and pry down the inner fender. Then other people posted that you should do it the right way and take the outer fender off.

If lowering the inner fender works, that's DEFINITELY the way to go. Thanks again!

You'll have to let me know the details of your photo shoot. I wouldn't mind having a few professional pics taken of my car once it's done.

bottledbird68 10-29-2012 08:48 PM

I'm kinda jaded after all these years of seeing/building cars and it takes a lot for me to take notice.
That being said those pics actually make me say wow, that is a bad ass car :)

No problem. I wanted to get a few decent pics while everything is looking good. I've already started picking up some tiny nicks in the paint from all the driving I've been doing with it.

THANKS guys! I've been through a lot of problems with this car and it's great that it's finally straightened out.

I have one slightly better picture:

Photobucket reduces the resolution of the pictures I upload.

I think I need to change some of the settings first. Photobucket lists the max size as "1MB / 2048x1536" if the settings are set correctly.

ZFreie, How about this one? It is 1600 x 1031. If you want something bigger, I can email you a file that is 7289 x 4697.

That works perfect, new background! Thank you very much!

Should make a nice poster out of your high res one and keep them in the back of the car and sell them to people who lean on your car...
