How do I manualy put my truck in 2wd?

pull the motor off and actuate the lever thats behind it by hand. to the full forward(towards the engine) position and that Should be 2wd if im not mistaken??

and worst case if im wrong and you shift it. you will only just put it in low 4wd. you cant break it.

do yr self a favor and once its in 2wd pull the fuse. its the one under the hood if i remember right the one in the dash is the hubs only

i thought you where still using the truck until u swapped it. the problems i had is when in 2wd and u shut the truck off when u started again it would engaged into something else. if u get in 2wd and pull the fuse theres no power to the motor and cant do anything

No, I have no problems with that, the truck is in 2wd, my friends truck does that, hell start it and it will be in 4 hi. I think they changed the t-cases in those trucks around 2003. My buddy has a 2004.

UPDATE! I've been listening to the noise more carefully, and it seems to only make the noise when the truck is in over drive (38mph+) I dont know why these trucks shift in to OD at such a low speed but thats irrelevant. Let me know what you guys think of this.
