Problem is finding someone to install them for a price that warrants it worth buying from online to me.

Why is that?

SLP IROC-Z 05-25-2011 05:13 AM

because most tire places wont mount and balance tires that werent bought from them. we have a whole sale account with townfair tire, wholesale prices, free mounting and balancing.

whatta ya do when your online tire needs to warrantied? ship it back???

WTF, you serious about the "if its not bought here we wont touch em?" And, I don't have pizzas luck with things so i basically never have to warranty things haha, but them are valid points! To bad tft dosnt show on their site that the carry nittos, I wonder how much 555rs for stock rims will be.

SLP IROC-Z 05-25-2011 06:06 AM

townfair tire doesnt stock nittos but they can order them. the regular 275 40 17 555s i ordered for maddies car were $165 mounted and balanced iirc

You can get any mechanic who has the machine to do a mount and balance. And I don't know of any place that turns down money.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 05-25-2011 08:33 PM

Try going to firestone, tft, pep boys, or any other "chain" place. They all say noy just for liability reasons. They install your tire the tire fails you go back there like wtf and they say tough luck. Looks worse on them then if they just sed no in the first place.

pep boys is installing my tires that i didnt buy with them...yea i have a hook up on price but if it went against the stores policy he wouldnt do it. so pep boys does in fact do it. this will be the second location ive got it done at too, first one in Seekonk, and this ones in west warwick

reputable places wont, sure independant garages with a tire machine and balancer probably will however i dont know of indepedants with the right machines for doing low profile tires and aluminum wheels not to mention stick on weights.

*LS1* Queen 05-25-2011 09:49 PM

ya if u go that route u better pray ur wheels dont get fubared!

Formula413 05-26-2011 12:09 AM

There is a place near me that will mount and balance four tires for $50, including stick on weights. They will mount tires you supply and don't seem to be hacks either.

black heartbeat 05-26-2011 12:12 AM

one by me that does the same only for 40 :-)

KLAB 05-26-2011 04:03 AM

Just get em balanced at walmart....

LOOOOOOL

midnight 05-26-2011 04:05 AM

honestly, from what ive heard, the places that have walmarts that do it supposedly do good work. I originally was like HA fuck that, but i cant remember who now but they said they did a decent job.

as long as you dont fuck up the rim and it holds air right and is balanced properly, i dont see how you can be bad at it

This, when i was at school (going back this fall) i used to mount and balance tires of all shapes and sizes, and you would really have to pull a bone head move to mess up a rim. I had chrome rims on the 300m and never hurt em.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 05-26-2011 01:53 PM

listening to my BOSS at the garage just after i started. i put a wheel on a MAX of 16" tire machine(old school with the pinch bar). this was a special edition F-150 wheel...... 17". so i proceded to do as instructed. and POP!! went the rim. So if your new or not paying attension or being instructed wrong. a rim can get fucked up anywere. ive seen guys AT tire/rim places like firestone fuck up peoples wheels. just trying to rush to get out on time or what have you can all have an effect on how well the job comes out. makes no difference were you go. its all Human error. not the machines being used. be nice if they made automated tire machines.

like the self check outs in the grocery store?

DemonWithin99 05-26-2011 03:14 PM

i got a place that will mount balance and nitro fill for $45. or another that will mount balance for $20.

midnight 05-26-2011 03:23 PM

wow thats a good deal

midnight 05-27-2011 02:06 AM

so theyre on.

the fuck i cant fit 4 wheels and 8 tires in an fbody!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...7/IMAG0053.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...7/IMAG0054.jpg

had my chest on the steering wheel the whole time, if i was taller it wouldnt have happend.

got them on and everything is great, kid did an awesome job and I watched him out in the garage the whole time. Only thing was, he said he was having a hard time getting the rears to balance but he did finally and said to let him know if it didnt feel right. There is a definite roughness coming from the rear but i cant tell if thats just the drag radials. I expect a rougher ride from them. I might have to have someone go for a ride with me and you tell me. Otherwise the car feels amazing and even just driving it normally i can feel a difference in grip.

tomorrow night im gonna pull the rears off and grind down the bump stops a little, at full range in the suspension it rubs very slightly, but unless i spend alot of time going over jumps i wont see the effects, just an insurance policy. We did have to hammer in the lower fender well cuz they did rub but other than that everything went up well.

My84Z 05-27-2011 02:12 AM

looks good mike...why does everyone freak out about the wheel gaps on these cars jesus buy a honda if u want it lowered

Formula413 05-27-2011 10:02 PM

It's weird, this car seems to have just the right wheel gap in the back but sits a little high in the front, usually it's the opposite
