any updates??????
|
A little off topic (and if it's too far off topic I'll gladly remove the pictures), but.... I was at the British By The Sea car show this weekend and saw a beautiful MG. The car really caught my eye in a huge field of cars. Turns out the body & paint restoration was done by LaBrecque Autocraft (same shop doing David's car for those of you playing along at home):

WOW, that thing is gorgeous!
|
yeah man that car is MINT! that shop does some nice work huh?!?!?!
|
Dawg,
No updates yet. I haven't been to his shop in a week or so. The place is packed with cars and I might be at the bottom of the priority list. A lot of other cars are closer and I am guessing that some customers want their car back immediately. Jeff, The MG looks good, but I'm not a big a MG fan as they are just too small for me. I think I ticked one of my neighbors off when I told him his MG was the perfect size for my 8 year old. LOL. |

But throw an LS1 in and well it seems like a fun little car:max: This is exactly what I planned to do with the 69 my dad and I played with earlier in life: LS1 Swapped MGB GT:gears: |

David-
The front end looks very nice. Last time I was at the shop Kevin was in & out of the booth painting your parts. Don't buy the front sway bar end links - I have a set for you if you want them. I bought them from HBC, but they are correct for 69, not 68 like mine, so I had my originals re-plated. It's just not worth the return shipping to send them back. Here they are: http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j1...forsale001.jpg |
speaking of bushings are you gonna go with stock or urethane bushings?
the ride is so much better with urethane. |
ive found that poly makes it a stiffer ride? if i was to keep a car stock id keep the suspension rubber. thats me though.

The 69 has new urethane bushings. I thought that urethane gives you a harsher ride, but they last much longer than rubber. |
David-
Any updates? I haven't been over to the shop in a while since my car has been taken apart again & the guys are in full body work mode. |

Most of the Dynacorn sheetmetal fit A-OK, except for the rear quarters. There is a big gap in the trunk spacing that they will fix by cutting it and welding in a piece of sheetmetal. They have been screwing things together for fitting and then will start welding everything up. The only piece welded so far is the rockers. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...-31-55_490.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...-32-13_565.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...-31-38_772.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...-32-26_435.jpg I saw Jeff's 68 in the spray booth and it's been primered. It looks GREAT. Also, THANKS for the parts Jeff. Mike is going to use all of them. |
Looking good David!

Anyhow, I checked out David's car while I was there, and it is essentially brand new. I bet you could count on one hand the number of original body parts used! It is a sight to behold. |
