HA. I've been thinking about that, but I'd like to keep it looking close to the real deal:

Yes, on the vinyl roof.... I always like vinyl roofs. I think they make the car look finished, like it has a hat on. :)

My84Z 06-09-2012 01:18 AM

Thanks Pizza!!!

I have another set of 69 Lakewood traction bars that just need the surface rust cleaned off and need to be repainted. I could paint these black and then switch over in the future if the yellow bars look terrible.

looking good David!
I hope they get the rear lower once its finished?
It seems a bit too high?
I would also concider sub frame connectors on any first gen camaro.
Or else youll get the cracks at the rear windows.

Thanks Dawg!

I don't think Mike has the rear finished yet. I'll check with him on the final height.

For the connectors, I picked up these at Summit and Mike said he wants me to stop in tomorrow because he has some questions on them. The Summit listing says "One end needs to be welded in the other end bolts in".

Thanks for the instructions Dawg!! After I skimmed them, I thought Andrew might ask if I wanted the fronts bolted in or welded in....which ended up being the question. They will be welded in.

For the height.....there is no weight in it right now, things will settle out, and we are going with bigger tires on the back.

I only have one cell phone pic today:

I know how you feel David! My car sat outside for 2 months before they started with the paint. Was driving me nuts seeing it sitting there.

Looking very nice!

Thanks Ron!!!

It's been 2.5 years of fighting with the car. The first place I had it did their best but this car was too much of a nightmare. Things are on the right track now and it should be loads of fun cruising around town with it. I'll keep posting pics as progress is being made.

I hope it's ready by August. I just ordered a reproduction rear bumper from Heartbeat City since the old one is heavily pitted and rusty.
