ok well i recently changed my heads on silver ls1 swaped car and blew the motor up lol...i ran it to hard, to lean for to long HAHAHA. my oil cap look like a chu chu train, im pretty sure i lost a chunk of the piston by the rings(common on ls1's)...so i send out my ls2 from a 2007 tb ss to get a stock rebuilt(spun rod bearing). Im going to run trickflow 215s with it, 11.2 compression ratio, cam will probally be a vengance cam, trickflow cam or keep my tsp tv2 cam unless i sell it. but i have two sets of heads for sale if anyones interested. i have a set of ported 5.3 heads (ran 11.8 with them at 3742 racewieght) i have no idea who ported them. also have livernois stage 2 ls6 heads with under 200 miles on them. they are milled .010 with dual valve springs. anyway i hope to get mid low 11's on 17 dr's with my new combo. also sold the silver camaro as a none rolling shell lol... im selling my dropout from my lt1 car as well. it's a 96 lt1 ss motor, 91 k miles, spec clutch comes with it. also have full cherry leather interrior from 96 ss as well. just pm me for prices since this isn't a for sale thread.

well the swap is done and since ran my car at the track...i didn't get the ls2 finished so i put my ls1 shortblock back with stock 241 heads, tv2 cam and fast 92 intake. i ran 11.8@ 117 with a 1.64 60'...i guess my old ported heads weren't all that great lol i ran same time with more mph...still with the old H/C tune. only thing else i changes was my catback, and headers. i went from kooks 1 7/8 ory to arh 1 7/8 ory and slp dual dual catback to slp loudmouth...everything else is the same minus the actual shell/body.

my ls2 will be a arp ls2 bottom end, nitrious rings, stock pistons/rods, tea stage 2.5 243's, vengance vrx 5 cam, vengence ported fast, stock ls2 timing set, ls7 lifters, comp pushrods, asp pulley. i ditched the tfs as casts because of money...im sure the tea heads will work up to par for what i want

i have everything pretty much to assemble my motor, all i need is 42 lbs injectors. should be done and on the road by end of may!!!

car is like forest gump....IT IS RUUUUNNN NIIINNNGG. needs a final tune, subframe connecters and a stronger driveshaft... possibly 42 lbs injectors. i will post up a run video and some install pics. hope to see 450 to 500 rwhp and 11.5s or faster full race weight 3642. probably get the fast ported over the winter as well. kinda deciding on a catback as well. right now i have arh headers, arh catted y and slp loudmouth 1 with dual/dual tips. laying around i have a arh ory, slp 2otl, slp dual/dual, and slp centermount valence with tips/bends....if i do go with the dual/dual or 2otl muffler set ups, ill end up getting a dmh e cutout in the i pipe.

lol ya it did take longer than expected. with work, taking care of my little girl, wedding planing going on...... just seems like nothing gets done anymore....

before it let go it made 489 rwhp and i cant remember the torque. upgrades before this spring will be green top injectors, vengeance ported fast92 and ls3 bottom end. I'll prob get new bearings for my 12 bolt as well to freshen it up. hopefully with this combo i get 500 to the wheels and run low 11's high tens full weight.

ls2 go boom......have a ls3 to replace it already.....motor blew on my wedding day, that cant be a good sign

no i didn't...i have 4 more head bolts left to loosen but i cant get the y pipe off the headers...tight like prom night!!! i looked down the intake port and exhaust port and seem good. turns over well to, doesn't seem to have bent valves or anything so i am praying it's all good...typical stock pistons, probably broken ringland..

well heads ended up being ok. i picked up a 2012 ls3 shortblock from slp with 3 miles on it...the reason my ls2 popped a piston was the factory fuel pump wiring....i picked up the racetronix hot wire kit for the fuel pump...my fuel pressure was dropping in the upper rpms off even with the new pump. cars back together and put down 526 rwhp... very happy with the car....now i want a c6 vette or a c5 z06 lol
