Cape Cod Summer Cruise?
 

Gauging some interest on maybe having a cruise along the cape cod shoreline sometime in the summer?

We actually have an annual Cape Cod meet in the summer hosted by the one and only John the Badger, and we do plenty of "cruising" for that. This meet is also known as the Cape Cod autocross :haha:

I was thinking about one cruise going down the entire coast his house is right in falmouth and I was thinking of going starting around there and going all the way to Yarmouth or so

its a lot shorter than it looks about 30 miles roundtrip

google maps fucked up my map I need to do it again

fixed it and google maps was wrong the distance is wayyyyyyyyyyyy longer than it said originally. I'm thinking of cutting it down its roughly 55 miles to unos then a 18 mile return. I'll make another map and everyone can decide which one they want because I know its a hike just to make it to the cape for guys like alex and boomer and I don't want to tack another 70 miles on top of it if they aren't up for it

do we remember how many miles the quabbin was? that was a pretty good distance

77 miles round trip from the start point

with out summer cape cod tourist traffic...which might not be as bad this year with gas prices going up

I really want to do this cruise but I need to play it by ear and i've designed this cruise to avoid a lot of the traffic for the most part except for when you are in good scenery and don't care how fast you are going. I've also set it up so we can hold in different areas to recollect. I'll be keeping tabs on it and I'll be keeping tabs on the traffic, and will be cruising the route to make sure there won't be any problems I also just modified it and shortened it a bit to avoid some problem intersections

^probably want to play it around fixing your car lol it would kinda suck to set it up then not go cuz of your car lol

We can use my house as a staging point. Since everyone coming from off cape will be going past it anyways. more or less. Also I could tag along with someone so I can focus on taking pictures the whole time. I would like to get my headgaskets done if Pizza will ever bring his lazy ass down here! But since I need to pay for school I probably wont have my TA on the road. Oh well. Either way, im down.

ok now that my car is almost on the road and it's starting to warm up I'm starting to set up a date-ish on when the cruise will be. I was thinking late May to Early June before the kids get out and the roads are jam packed. Any input?

end of May puts it really close to the Quabbin...not complaining about 2 cruises within a couple weeks of each other but sometimes its a deciding factor

I still think it would be best to incorporate this with our Cape Cod meet/party.

well the reason I didn't want to incorporate it in is because if you get the timing off too much we will be driving by the beaches at low tide, meaning it will smell like ass. lol we could push it back to mid june but that could be an issue with traffic

well ya i went to it, it was like 2 years ago and you referenced it which made me believe there was one set for this year but i couldnt find a thread for it.

We haven't made it official or set a date, but it's pretty safe to assume it will happen, unless Badger can't do it for some reason

Well regardless of whether badger has the party on the same day I'd like to have this thing pretty early before the traffic gets annoying. I'm thinking mid June at the latest
