bfurches 04-09-2011 09:35 PM

good lord?!

How much power were you making to break a case like that?
...Im assuming that was a production ford case and not a "N" case?

ZFreie 04-09-2011 09:38 PM

Ouch, nicely done! :owned: the rear end

*LS1* Queen 04-09-2011 09:51 PM

hahaha omg thats nuts ...only u mike would manage to do that haha

black heartbeat 04-09-2011 10:08 PM

whoops?

ILuvPizzaTimes10 04-09-2011 11:10 PM

hahahaha Ohh and if you check my other thread im sellin a freshly rebuild "SPECIAL" weight reduction Ford 9" spooled case.........

and to think i was only making just under 400/400

ohh and the case had nothing to do with it. and yes it was a standard truck C7AWE Case. broke 2 ring gear teeth off and it wedged the case open like that wen the pieces came around between the pinion and ring gears. AWESOME!!!!!

ls6monte 04-10-2011 12:12 AM

Extra 9" parts anyone????????????????????? lol

84ta406 04-10-2011 12:25 AM

DemonWithin99 04-10-2011 03:07 AM

And I have the same rear end as you.....great to hear lmfao

ZFreie 04-10-2011 02:14 PM

So based on this, should I just put an s60 in my car? Lol That was a 9" you blew up correct? Should I be worried abut blowing up a 9", nvm mind a 10 or 12 bolt, or is pizza just an example of murpheys law? what can go wrong goes wrong for him lol

ILuvPizzaTimes10 04-10-2011 02:20 PM

hahha the 9" is a FAR superior rear end in an M6 car with a torque arm. and this blow up was mostly my fault. broken ring gear teeth is NOT something that happens on a 9"! it does happen wen you buy 100 dollar gears off of ebay just trying to get your fixed on a LOW budget for last season.......

I figured as much. I want/need a new rear end, because arnt rear ends with 2.xx gears unompatable with 3.xx gears. 2 series vs 3 series or something like that? And Id even give building my own 9" a shot just for the cost, if even do able for cheaper.

irockidz28 04-10-2011 03:18 PM

nice. you dont really need those parts anyways lol

Formula413 04-10-2011 03:58 PM

I have some JB Weld if you need to borrow it, lemme know

they sell special gears now to keep your existing 2 series carrier and run higher(numerically) gears.

Just dont use a OEM ford case. Get something decent like the Moser "N" case.. Much stronger.

http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...r/IMG_0399.jpg

You can see the strength in it. Also use a Daytona style pinion suppport of some sort. They add even more strength.

My84Z 04-10-2011 05:00 PM

The cases are rarely the weak point imho just run a good center section gears axles etc.

ZFreie 04-10-2011 05:03 PM

Ill start doing some research and see how much it will cost and what not. Any thing I should keep my eyes open for? And for what its worth I don't wanna put a huge gear raito in the back cause Im an a4 and want to be able to drive it on the high way. Low to mid 3.xxs?

SLP IROC-Z 04-10-2011 05:18 PM

good work mike!

My84Z 04-10-2011 05:42 PM

Why do you need a 9" lol

My84Z 04-10-2011 11:00 PM

6 speed get 4:11's auto 3:73 if your na

ILuvPizzaTimes10 04-10-2011 11:04 PM

id say run 3.50's if you plan on doing stall or bigger motor plans in the future. if your gunna run Na small stall id say 3.73's. and anything for a center case will really hold up well. like john sed its hardly the cases fault. buy GOOD gears and a Carrier. stay away from cheap or "lightened" alot of "nascar" centers and parts are out there. and they have all been Weakened for the extra weight reduction. and they wont hold up well for Drag applications.

another few hours today and its FINALLY! out!

Ohh and yeah wen the rear end blew it wedged the drive shaft into the tranny and i cant get it out. tried a hammer.... Nope. tried a good sized pry bar and booted it a few times... Nope. sed FUCK THIS had my GF sit in the firebird while proceeded to wrap 1/2 nylon rope around the u joint and the tow ball of my pick up truck. gave the rope some slack and then stalled up the truck and let her rip.... NOPE! Broke the rope after dragging the car for about 5-10 feet. Very fun day.....

ls6monte 04-11-2011 12:00 AM

Nice! lol Time for an upgraded driveshaft????????

irockidz28 04-11-2011 01:12 AM
