A friend of mine whos never seen or ridden in the Camaro was talking about her friends civic. Now, Im going to list exactly what it has for mods as i was told..a 2005 honda civic si with a stage 3 clutch, custom exhaust, intake, vtech platnium plugs, smoked headlights and tailights, black rims (street tires no slicks), tinted windows and it has 310hp. So a intake exhaust civic thinks it makes 300~ horse LOL to the flywheel if god was on his side.

So I was like ok when does he wanna line them up, and she says he cant he has to many tickets. The ricer excuses already start flying. So i say no way hes getting off that easy, i tell her ill pay for gas AND the cost of admission to NED and take him at a closed track so no fear of losing his licence from street racing. She got quite quiet after that, and that was the end of the talk about his car.

So who here thinks the insanely modded civic could take me at the drag strip LOLOL Oh and thats the fastest car shes been in, I plan on taking her for a ride in the Camaro soon and making her eat her foot. :wookie:

at best, the DOHC vtec models make 160 flywheel. Civics are not like our cars where you throw an exhaust and an intake on and can pick up 30-50 hp the exhaust might net 10hp if your replacing it from the header back with 2.5", and the intake is probably good for like 2-3hp...then mind you, all those gains are wheel i believe only way civics make power is if the engines are rebuilt for high compression (and even then your just breaking into the 220whp mark, or boosted.

I personally wouldnt waste the gas or id tell them to make it fair your going to put a brick under your pedal to stop you from going WOT lol

I always hope I can drag them and talk some smarts into them and they get an fbody! Then whoop up on all their civic friends lol Never works, they get get mad.

Be careful. A lot of hatches around my area the owners claim to have LS vtek and you LOL and race for money next thing you know you're getting spanked by a boosted B20... I've seen it!

I dont race sketch people, if hes not willing to let me once over his car then for one Im not gonna run for money, and two Im not gonna race him anywho, cause hes hiding something and thats lame. That would be like me being like yea its stock and spraying a 200shot.

LSvtec and B20s are just a stupid concept all together...lets take two junk blocks that dont come vtec and make them vtec or shove a shitload of boost on internals made out of bubble gum and paper clips and cry after it breaks cuz you spent your life savings on the swap

oops I was thinking K20's but I've seen some beefy B20 builds dude..

But the "cheap fast reliable, pick 2" rule still comes into play. A civic with a race motor is "fast" and beats our cars "stock", our cars with a forged race motor with 20+ psi is pure carnage. How much does it cost to build a NICE k20 that can be driven for 50k and not explode ever, I'm guessing not cheap lol

i hate the boost vs n/a, boost has a ton of advantages.

I'm not saying there isn't some good ones but b20 bottom ends arnt good, for the money spent to build it and find a vtec head, you might as well do an h22 swap and boost with an h2b swap of course

A while back I had the chance to buy and eg hatch 5spd with d16 vtec in it, and it came with a k24 block...all for $500.........but i dont have the room, i have two vehicles as it is, and the driveway and garage are full lol

my neighbor has a d16...yea d16 thats getting 40+lbs of boost and shooting for low 10s. There are some serious honda ppl out there....just 90% of them are idiots and watch to much fast and the furious giving the people who actually know what they are doing a bad wrap.

take a D16, load it with boost and blow the fucking thing up, its like $100 for a new swap, people practically throw those things away lol if i ever end up back in one im throwing a big as turbo on the d series and blowing motors haha
