Mufflers

Ok, since i'm getting crap for having crapmasters(as Don calls them!) on my car, which of these would best suit my car? Keep in mind I have TRUE DUALS in 3" size. I want a nice rumble at idle and good sound when i'm on it. I don't want a top fuel loudness in the car, or a nasty droning. I also need double offset mufflers.

http://www.summitracing.com/compare.aspx

Here are the ones I'm looking at for those who can't see the link....

Make Part # $$$
Hooker Maximum flow mufflers HOK-21630HKR 75.95

Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers HOK-21530HKR 79.95

Magnaflow XL3 Chamber mufflers MPE-13239 56.90

Magnaflow Performance mufflers MPE-12578 106.75

Pypes Performance Race Pro PYE-MVR16 59.95

Pypes Performance Violators PYE-MVV16 61.99

Dynomax Performance Ultra Flow WLK-17229 83.95

Borla ProXS BOR-40353 99.95

Thrush Welded mufflers WLK-17660 33.95

Any other suggestions please let me know. Thanks Ron

Fail!!! LOL seriously though you really can't beat Magnaflows or Aerochambers, I think either would sound great on your car. Too bad it's not 2.5 inch cause I have a double offset Aerochamber laying around.

ls6monte 06-01-2011 02:34 AM

Woops! I had it on the screen! I'll try again! lol

bottledbird68 06-01-2011 02:41 AM

Had the dynomax fully welded race mufflers on my 68. They were the 3.5" ones and they weren't bad at all. I liked them and will most likely run them again in the future.
Loud when need be but tame enough to drive around on.

ls6monte 06-01-2011 02:43 AM

Posted all the mufflers!

irockidz28 06-01-2011 02:55 AM

i just put the aerochamber on my car this winter. i think its what your looking for nice rumble and its not really loud at all till i get on it

My84Z 06-01-2011 03:16 AM

Ron's setup and an fbody muffler are completely different animal. Now that being said I think magnaflow is really at the top of the game right now.

DemonWithin99 06-01-2011 03:17 AM

aerochamber gets right where you want it when you get on it.

and you can still sneak into the lot at the old folks home without waking the dead.

*LS1* Queen 06-01-2011 04:13 AM

dynomax!!!!!!!

SLP IROC-Z 06-01-2011 04:54 AM

anything but those magnaflow 3 chambers. those are a flowmaster style muffler

ILuvPizzaTimes10 06-01-2011 01:34 PM

is your cat back stainless? not that it really matter but if it is then it would nice to keep it ALL stainless. if not then id just run the dyno max's. they sound Great wide open and muffler it down real nice cruising.

ls6monte 06-01-2011 04:40 PM

The exhaust is kind of custom due to the engine and having 3" exhaust when it cane 2" 2 1/2" from the factory. It is all steel. It looks like it will be either the Hooker Aero Chamber's or Dynomax. I would like to hear them on an LS car before I put them on so I can get an idea of how they sound.

DemonWithin99 06-01-2011 04:57 PM

Hooker

just catback

problem is the SINGLE 3" on F Bodys will sound completly different then the dual 3" on Rons car. No cross flow muffler will sound even similar to a single in single out.

SLP IROC-Z 06-01-2011 05:43 PM

theres no way its going to sound bad ron.

My car has a single in/out Magnaflow and it doesn't sound much different from a full catback IMO.

And yeah what Joe said!!!

ILuvPizzaTimes10 06-01-2011 07:27 PM

side by side it will. and your still stuffing all your exhaust into a 3" I Pipe. similar note comes from the same size pipe. Either way. no matter what he does. it will sound good. and he will gain some power!!!

midnight 06-01-2011 08:54 PM

im with alex, magnaflows or aerochambers

*LS1* Queen 06-01-2011 09:18 PM

dynomax sound awesome...i will never go to a diff muffler again

black heartbeat 06-01-2011 09:50 PM

have you thought about the dynomax vts? those are like the cadillac of muffler right now in my opinion, otherwise I think magnaflow or borla xr-1s

Camaro9969 06-01-2011 11:48 PM

Doesn't matter what u get your motor will make any muffler sound sick! Just buy two electric cutouts for the track show them how its done

smokinss 06-06-2011 01:27 AM

+1 on the electric cutouts. Again Ive got magnaflow but its on a f-body so sound will be different. I think the magnaflow will still sound very nice on your car Ron and then just open up the cutouts when necessary.

Slowhawk 06-07-2011 01:43 AM

Why not just listen to Don and get the 2 cutout's? ASS

Weld them in and put on electric cutout's later.

Hmm, only said this 100 times already.

My84Z 06-07-2011 01:45 AM

Cause he has a friend who has.....

ls6monte 06-07-2011 01:51 AM

I'm going to do the mufflers AND the cutouts. Can only afford one at a time! lol
