Only cause everyone you have known had plenty of mileage on there stockers before modding them. You start using new oem with power and drag racing an they fail. It's like saying I have seen people use a 200 shot tons of times no problem on stock cars well i don't wanna be the one to find out it doesn't take at the 1000' mark at 120 mph
My monster stage 3 has been working fine for over a year now, my only problem is it'll glaze up and squeak a little if i baby the car for a while and once i beat on it, it goes away.
Ahh something else caused it to fail. My monster 3 has been in the car for a year and a half with over 30 passes on it launching a 6k on slicks. Def have other disengagement issues
/this is the 1st one I've seen fail so I would have a few questions.
1- was it used with a new slave cylinder setup? 2- Rear main seal leaking oil onto the clutch? 3- new pilot bearing installed, the correct way? 4- how far off the floor was the clutch engaging? 5- was the measurement made for free play from the slave bearing to the clutch fingers? If so, how much clearance? Anything could happen but we run them in alot more powerfull cars on slicks spraying out of the hole with no failures to date. They will take care of the clutch. |
ive beat the bag off my monster clutch with no problems..... The only thing is once i beat the car.... (dump the clutch ect.) it seems to chatter for a min or 2 after.... also my clutch seems alot lower than with my spec 3+
bought the clutch directly from monster as a full kit. new slave tick master pilot and fly wheel. the clutch was grabbing about tourds the top of the stroke about 3/4 up and my clutch pedal was just short of my brake with the tick master. I was told this was about right by the guys at monster. the rear main was dry as a bone no signs of leaking. Joe and I took a quick look last night and it seems one of the friction pads may have delaminated.
Well the guys at monster should take care of it for ya no problem
still sucks LOL
