Marco is pushing for a 275 radial class at NED thoughts?
 

marco who was apart of nefbody.org i dn if he signed up here or not is trying to push for a 275 heads up radial class at NED he needs more support. what do you all think of a class like this at NED? it is big in the southern tracks like atco and englishtown. i personally think its exciting as hell and i love to see these guys push real radial tires to the test!

I think it would be a good time but why not a 10.5 radial class that is much more common and allows for a larger group

It would be cool to watch but I couldn't be competitive in it.

Could be a good class, but unless you have a lot of money/time into your suspension a 275 tire is hard to compete on.. IMO

it would be 1/8th mile racing

it would be cool. i wont be competitive in it like john sed ill need way more tire then that. so on that note truly how many people would be racing this class every weekend?

sounds like a good low power(sub 500 rwhp) automatic class for guys that are able to hook on the tires

from what i read on the tech to be competitive you would have to do 5's in the 8th and low 8's in the 1/4.....

dam thats nuts never mind i ya when it takes that sort of cash i dont see the purpose. we need more classes for the entry level guys so we can get some new blood in he sport.

yea this is def big boy racing lol nasty setups hookin and bookin on 275 drag radials. i feel like the class at NED would be around 5.50's to 6.00's to be competitive the big boys down south go low 5's. i guess for 2010 they are saying it will be only a 3 race series to introduce it to NED

i mean i like the diversity they are goin for with it. but like boomer sed why not a class for us enrty level guys? i mean i suppose they have 11.5 classes and shit BUT it was nice to see a true street class at the shoot out in memphis.

I don't think it will take off.(also talked to Marco about this) It is expensive to build a car for this and running such a small tire causes alot of crashes.

A better thing is to push the Outlaw classes and maybe add a 12.5 class to it so more street cars can make the events.

last year i mentioned a 12.5 class to be added to quick street. it seems like NED sometimes dosent want to listen to its customers. maybe i will bring that idea back up. 12.5 would be perfect for me and im sure a lot of other racers out there at our level who dont want to spend huge amounts of $$

i Agree Tony. that would be sumthing i would try and get into. a class for slow guys!!! and it would be fun to watch as well as race. and i do think it would bring in a bigger croud. i dont need to spend X amount of money to be competitive!

hhahhahaaha you do realise I am stirring the pot on purpose???? I love arguing cause the lt1 still holds a spot in my heart. however I love how people get all ruffled about it.

I think a 12.5 class on a 275 would be fun or a street tie class no drag radials that do not have a rain groove that would be fun too. some people can do real good on mt et street radial.

a true street tire class would be cool. but i have never heard of such a class before. it would prolly be hard to get the NED higher ups to go for it.

i like my poor mans bracket racing. keeps everyone on a level playing field and its fun. the only thing that isnt cool about the index racing like the 10.5, 11.5 classes is it really is just a .400 tree bracket race just everyone in the class dials the same number and alot of guys just sandbag so say ur a 11.5/11.6 sec car u will be running 11.00 cars detuning to run the number. if they had a 12.5 class im sure i wouldnt be good competition cuz every pass i would be running pretty much all out to hit 12.5 unless it is really good weather. i run from 12.4's - 12.6's throughout the year consistantly
