Best Undercoating?
Gonna start undercoating a few pieces under my truck a little bit, Im wondering what you people think is the best undercoating?

POR is only good on stuff that is heavily rusted/scaled. otherwise it's useless. if it doesn't have a rusty surface to stick to it will just peel off in sheets.
for something durable, i like using herculiner bed liner. much better and more durable than the spray on rubberized undercoating crap. |
POR doesn't peel if you do it right. We've done roll bars and brand new rears no problem..

i would just use regular 3M undercoating for your truck
|
you need to prep the surface with etching compound first. then POR will work Awesome! other wise if you really dont want to hassle with it get some spray on carp and just keep up on it.

Well I wanna do my k frame on my truck, its got some surface rust on it, I plan on cleaning it up with a wire cup real nice, and then spraying it with something think that would be good enough prep for por15?

POR-15 has to be topcoated for anything exposed to sunlight as well or it will break down with UV rays.
From the POR-15 website: "WILL THE SUN DESTROY MY POR-15 COATING IF I DON'T TOPCOAT IT? If the surface is exposed to the sun for an extended amount of time, the UV rays will eventually break down the POR-15 and cause it to fail. That’s why we recommend you topcoat it." |
BODY SCHULTZ IS THE BEST.
