TQ arm needed??
I have LCA brackets, adj hardpan, adj LCA and wondering..... is there a need for a TQ arm at my power level? HP is aprox 400-425hp at the wheels.

Yes the torque arm keeps pinion angle. There are other alternative but you would have to get rid of what you have already
|
yeah get a new torque arm and get one that is either a tunnel mounted or relocation full length.

To fair he has a stock rear end and he is running an auto, sam ran at stock torque arm with a alot more power that that, and joe ran his with a nine inch in the back and a just used lca relocators to center it. Just my two cents

A stock torque arm is fine if you do not alter the height or too much if a tire size.
|
i bent my stock one on 28 inch nittos at the track on bolt on power so you decide

Stick vs auto......

Is nothing compared to a 6k stick launch lmao

i still say get an aftermarket torque arm to properly set pinion angle on a lowered car. yes it will be close on a stocker. but to get it RIGHT and have no D/S shake or wheel hop get an adjustable aftermarket T/A.

Just find a used arm it wont be too expensive somewhere around 250ish. A full length arm will be a lot quieter than the tunnel mount. If you race a lot the tunnel is better but loud. It all depends what your looking to do. Also obviously poly mounts vs rod ends makes a big difference

I'd get one to be on the safe side. I snapped a stocker in half on pavement, on street tires, @ bolt on LT1 power levels tho w/ an M6. not even launching from a stop, was rolling at 5mph and floored it.. had to replace my DS, output shaft seals(think thats what their called anyways) in my T56 and thats when my slow diff leak started as well.
