Founders Performance STB and components
Hey guys, looking at a few things online for the suspension in my car and noticed that Founders Performance has a few things for a pretty decent price compared to other companies. Just wondering if anybody here has the stb, lca's, etc installed on their cars and any complaints or praises for their products.
Thanks! |
you know i have a stb FS right?

Is it the red bmr? If so gonna have to pass, looking to grab a black one. Still interested in that dash piece tho. |
It is the red bmr one. Fuck why won't some just buy that thing.

I have the founders on my car fit great no issues. Also have the lca relocation brackets all r black power coated they look nice and fit and finish was great. They do what they r ment to with no issues. Mike no one will buy them bc who wants a big red rod going accros there motor. Take the 15 min scuff it and paint it black it will sell in a min.

I have a big red one... :)
and no one will buy his because A it's red and B most of us already have one. lol |
Yea u have a red car so it doesn't apply to u.
|
I have the founders stb and sfc's and I was impressed with the quality, no issues here.
|
So what's the point of a stb on these cars again?

Yeah, was thinking of some more I could do to dress up the engine bay, aside from cleaning and painting, wire tuck mod and all that. Also bet it couldn't hurt to stuff something in there to stiffen up the front suspension.
|
It's not going to do a thing to stiffen suspension. Assuming the car's engine bay is pretty solid, it's the same thing as having nothing there. And the engine bay isn't going to flex that bad.
I've been doing the spectator drags and autox for 10 years. I don't have an STB. |
Do you have SFCs? If so do they help? Obviously they're a must for a car that is launched hard but I hear different things about whether/how they affect handling.
|
I actually will say if you do hard cornering a stb is not a bad idea. The thirdgen structure is very similar and cause that had the wonder bar performed better hell look at what removing the sway bar does for drag racing.
|
in theory the bar would help in cornering and drag launching and slamming the front back down. but more for looks, and being a pain in the ass to work on. I have a 3 point edelbrock one painted silver i might sell if i cant get the under of my ss hood to clear it. I'll PM you. can just paint it black lol

I had sfc's in the 86 Iroc I used to have. Was part of the full setup from ssm (southside machine) with the 4 link rear setup. That suspension in that car was a beast. Yeah it only had a built 305 tpi with 11lbs of boost but with the gears and tranny it'd launch hard. She was also a t-top car as well so added reinforcement of the body.
Pretty sure it's going to get added to the list of things I want to do to it over the course of next year. Just like how tight it felt in the front end of the iroc, could tell a slight variation after putting it in there. Just hope it does the same in this one. |
it will help out A LOT. amazing how loose these cars feel after you drive one with THE RIGHT suspension pieces! i dont have a fron sway bar and i cant tell unless im going WAYYYY to fast into an off camber corner.
