Thank God Worcester Sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

84ta406 01-19-2013 04:58 AM

Because a giant dirt and gravel parking lot is sooo much better lol. Looks like I am skipping it this year and going to Syracuse

DAWG 01-19-2013 01:28 PM

gets worse every year!

bottledbird68 01-19-2013 05:17 PM

Yeah I'm not thinking its the best move either but I suppose we'll see what happens. I'm still waiting to hear how it's all going to be set up

my thought's exactly! hopefully they are smart enough not to use the dirt lot for show cars. there are plenty of flat grassy areas around the track to use. who knows maybe this move is what the nationals needed, i'm sure the owners of the speedway will be involved and the CT state troopers will not allow it to get out of control outside of the speedway.

DAWG 01-19-2013 07:41 PM

Worchester used to be ok until everyone started charging for anything and everything!

Formula413 01-20-2013 08:28 AM

That's what I hate about Summer Nationals. Every time you turn around someone wants more money.

DAWG 01-20-2013 01:38 PM

Years ago the only thing you paid for was to park your car for the weekend.
And you had that spot ALL weekend.
All the events were free aswell.

fluffy 01-20-2013 03:44 PM

idk about this move ill prob not bring my car and just take my DD... however im not too hopeful about what its gonna be like

*LS1* Queen 01-21-2013 05:01 AM

show sucks now anyways...too much of a cluster fuck and too many idiots

BadBird505 01-21-2013 04:19 PM

it can't be any worse, atleast you wont have to pay twice at thompson, registrations get you access to everything. i will definitely go, should be a different crowd.

Onyx00z 01-21-2013 04:44 PM

I like Thompson its out in the woods, I think it will be a good time. The gravel parking lot will probably be spectator parking imo.

it seems like that was what 50% of the people in the show were doing anyway and that's why the show lost it's luster years ago. Moscoffian got to money hungry and started letting anyone in the show that wanted to pay the money. Didn't matter if it was a rusted our Caprice or a Ford Tempo with stickers and undersized chrome wheels.

bottledbird68 01-22-2013 07:02 PM

I put the bug in the powers that be ears to see if since we are going to have the crowd in the bleachers if we can go to freestyle burnouts like the turkey burns instead of the stationary ones we've done forever. I'll update when I hear back on that one.
I've been helping run the burnouts up there for years so and even I'll admit it's gotten very stale for a while now.

BigMac76 01-22-2013 11:57 PM

This will probably be the first year in almost 6 that I won't make it. I agree that yeah its pretty much turned into a "I dont give a shit just pay me-fest" here as of late. Letting anybody with a shitbox pull up on the pad and burn em off kind of chapped my ass about Green Hill. I didn't pay almost $40 for me, my fiance and my daughter to see some asswad pull up in a rotted out capri with 5.slow badges all over it with the walmart slap on hubcaps, vatozone shifter and license plate trim to blow some $5 junkyard tires, or his tired ass engine. But anyways...

Not sure how much better it will be in Thompson as the few events that I have been to there wasn't that impressive. Think its going to be a tough first year trying a different place, but depending on how it is put together will be either the deal maker or breaker.

Going to hopefully still be out of town on my honeymoon at that time, but might make the last day of it. Keep me up to date guys, might be interested in going next year depending how it turns out.

Northeast Rod Run 01-23-2013 01:59 AM

I'm going to venture a guess and say that this is pretty much the end for that show

When it first started, it was the only thing of it's type around here. Now there are many QUALITY run shows in the Northeast all year long.

Hell, there are now some cruise nights that are bigger than the Summer Nats (Bass Pro at Gillette and Mark's in CT) and even they have better control over keeping the shitboxes out... and those are even free!!

SLP IROC-Z 01-23-2013 04:13 AM

it will never be the same.

ls6monte 01-23-2013 11:37 PM

As far as I'm concerned the Summer Nats are dead. Thompson may be a better place but it won't be greenhill park. I think I'm done going after 18 years or so.

BadBird505 01-24-2013 02:46 AM

i'm going! i don't care who runs it or where it goes, my family, friends, and I have been going for over 15 years. it is all about the people you surround yourself with and make it a good time. i mean if you've been attending for a long time you gotta atleast go and check it out, it can't be any worse then last year!

c4boom 01-24-2013 05:21 AM

dust is going to be nuts i can see the 4x4 guys doing donuts already

the show lost its luster when people minding their own buisness got bottled in the back of the head like i did.. thats why i wont take the car i pour money into there...ill take my DD at least if blood gets all over that i wont feel so bad.. summer nats used to be a lot of fun but after the year i got bottled i have never gone there without looking over my shoulder.. hopefully the move will change that and make it safer for people looking to participate

ILuvPizzaTimes10 01-27-2013 02:01 AM

WORCESTER SUCKS!!!!!!!

*LS1* Queen 01-27-2013 06:16 PM

i agree its a good time if ur surrounded by good people..BUT when u have to worry about drunk people walking into ur cars and starting fights its just pointless drama..alot of people dont have respect for other peoples vehicles that they work hard to maintain and mean something to them all they care about is getting shitfaced and partying it up..its not even about the cars at that point.
