WTB: 93-02 Front clip
Hey guys. I need your help on finding me a new nose. I rear ended a suv today and I need a new front clip. The hood is destroyed and the fenders and bumpers are cracked and it would be easier for me to replace them.
I need a hood, fenders, and bumper. Possibly hood hinges as well. If you guys could help me out here id be really appreciative |
ouch. any pics?

No help here unless you want to buy a whole shell. My only advice, do not buy aftermarket for those cars. Find used oem from the yard or a part out. Trust me.
|
I guess the bald tires in your sig didn't help you out?
That sucks! |

Would it be smarter to buy a parts car and part it out or just buy the parts i need and paint them?

For oem parts, probably not too much off on that pricetag. If you get all of it locally, you can save on the shipping, but if it comes from tech or anywhere else, gotta go freight with em. And if its coming to your house vs a commercial site, you're looking at a minimum of $100 added onto it.
Just so ya know, nothing fits as well as oem parts, don't waste your money or time on aftermarket stuff. IMO it never looks right no matter how hard you try to line it up. There are very few places that do a really good repo, but you're paying for the quality of it, which still comes out to pretty damned near, if not more than, oem parts prices. Might want to check out the bumper cone as well as hood latch, cables, all the plastics inside, etc. Rip it all apart first and make sure 100% that you got it all listed up so you don't go and buy what you think you need and be like, "Oh shit, forgot I needed part x, y, and/or z." Nothing sucks worse than that when trying to put something back together thinking you have everything but end up being short something. |
Well having 4 years of experience at a school, a knowledadgeable grandfather, and working at an a+ rated body shop, I know all about the difference between aftermarket and oem.
I have had my instructors, grandfather and myself all agree that there is no structural damage and no other damage aside from the headlight panel. ill be doing all the work myself but I just wanted to see if anyone here had some parts laying around. Thanks for the tips guys but I have a decent idea on what I'm doing haha |

But I don't think he is gonna be ordering parts and having them shipped, seems like he is looking for a used OEM local front clip. Based on his thread I think he can handle it lol. So Steve, where the hell are the pics of the damage anyway? |

Its minor but its there and it sucks considering I just repainted the car but such is life. Ordering a headlight panel and new headlights to make it functional |
that sucks.... nose scooted right under it huh hahaha

Haha yeah sorry man. Totally forgot you do bodywork and did the work on your car as well, brainfart on my end here. Hope the repairs go well and car-part does have some listings of parts of local boneyards and usually either a grade and price along with a pic of it.
