Kancamagus Highway cruise NH

This is an idea that's been kicking around for a while, I'd like to get the ball rolling and start talking about a route and a date. Tony had a rough outline of how the cruise would look so I'll let him weigh in on that. Time frame, I was thinking September before the road is clogged with leaf people, does that make sense? How many people would be interested in doing this?

ZFreie 08-23-2013 05:05 PM

Me and britt are in!

bottledbird68 08-23-2013 10:35 PM

If she's not working we'd be interested

ls6monte 08-23-2013 11:29 PM

I'm in.

Grovlet 08-23-2013 11:30 PM

Sounds like a cool deal - I would try and make it if possible (depending on dates/days)

Z28 08-24-2013 12:15 AM

Get a date and ill tag along

frankzlt1 08-24-2013 01:12 AM

I'm interested

Motaboata 08-24-2013 02:47 PM

If my car ever gets tuned I'm in!

CamaroRacing12 09-02-2013 03:50 AM

Wow ive been so distracted with the shootout and outlaw 10.5 index racing i sort of forgot about this but i do want to do it! I was thinking we shoot up rt 93 about 2 hours drive through the notch stop for some pics (mayb do the cannon mountain tramway) then head back catch the kacamangus and head to conway have food then head down rt 16

Formula413 09-02-2013 03:44 PM

That sounds like a plan. Any thoughts on a date?

SLP IROC-Z 09-02-2013 04:08 PM

this is a fantastic idea

bottledbird68 09-02-2013 06:36 PM

I like

Formula413 09-03-2013 02:46 AM

Just a possible idea: Would anyone be interested in doing this the same weekend as Chevyfest? Race track one day and cruise the next. Or would people prefer a different weekend?

bottledbird68 09-03-2013 03:25 AM

Fack, wonder how quick I could get the turd gen together lol.

ZFreie 09-03-2013 01:04 PM

Id say separate but, its up to everyone else, might be a bit much for some people to do both.

Formula413 09-03-2013 02:04 PM

Anyone have a preference on a date? Saturday or Sunday? What weekend?

Motaboata 09-03-2013 03:06 PM

Sunday I say and later in the month last weekend sept

ls6monte 09-03-2013 11:37 PM

Separate. I'm not going near chevy fest ever again. That show sucked ass when I went to it a few years ago.

KLAB 09-04-2013 03:23 AM

Me and the girl did the kanc last week. I think it would be great to hit Conway first take pics around there and hand out, then go west across the kanc into Woodstock. There is a great place to get food / beers at the Woodstock Inn and Brewery and its right at the end of the kanc. I think that would be a blast then everyone can split ways after dinner because its right off 93 too. Just a thought...

CamaroRacing12 09-06-2013 05:20 PM

I'd like to shoot up 93 drive through the notch stop enjoy the views. then back track a few exits hit the kacamangus head over to Conway have some food then shoot down rt 16 to rt 125. If people would be down for it we could get a hotel stay the night near the track then hit the track up the next day. make it a fun weekend trip.

I'm on board with all of that!

ZFreie 09-06-2013 06:10 PM

Im down, i dunno if I can come up with the scratch for a hotel room by then tho lol

Next year this should be the def plan, a weekend event.

Me either lol. I would probably spend the weekend up at my place in Center Harbor, that's why I thought it would be nice to meet in North Conway first, shoot across the Kanc, stop for food in Woodstock at the end, then up to the Notch. Maybe we could do it backwards too though and just meet off of 93.

Is everyone ok with an STI following us and an evo? LOL sorry I have some import pals that have been wanting to go for a cruise up there.

bottledbird68 09-07-2013 01:00 AM

Have we ever been f body specific at any of our meets lol? If I can't get the turd gen together in time we'll be in the wrx.

CamaroRacing12 09-07-2013 06:48 AM

Ill plan this out next week. Lemme get this weekend down. Racing 2m morning. Then i have a funeral to attend sunday. Good friend of mine passed recently

Motaboata 09-07-2013 01:35 PM

Last Sunday of the month I say!

Formula413 09-07-2013 01:59 PM

A Sunday is ok with me, I know Sundays are better for Ron too.

I like the idea of meeting somewhere in the Methuen/Haverhill/Salem area and making the trip up together. If we meet up near the Kanc and just do that portion of the route as a group that's not very far, it's like 35 miles from Lincoln to Conway. I think it would be more fun to have a full day of cruising as a group.

Tony this is pretty much the route you're suggesting right?

CamaroRacing12 09-08-2013 03:17 AM

Looks about right. Yup.

bottledbird68 09-09-2013 01:57 AM

I agree Alex about meeting on 495

ZFreie 09-09-2013 12:12 PM

joes shop lol

Formula413 09-09-2013 12:35 PM

That could work too.

SLP IROC-Z 09-09-2013 02:24 PM

im wondering if we should go 95 when we leave and come back 93 at the end of the day. its kinda cool cruising threw the notch in the evening

Thats what I'm saying! North Conway pre meet, walk around check out shops and stuff if you want then cruise, get food then go to the notch and take some ill pics.

I'll put up a mapquest thing later, but going up 95 involves 3 or 4 tolls, unless its really convenient for people to go up 95 to 16, I would say come up 93 and meet me around Meredith area. I can lead the way to Conway from there the back roads there are almost better than the kanc lol. Just some ideas, we have time...

Formula413 09-09-2013 03:54 PM

Wouldn't we be able to get better pics at the notch earlier in the day, when the sun is overhead? It is a valley right?

CamaroRacing12 09-09-2013 04:10 PM

yeah not sure the logic in driving through the notch at night. you cant see anything at all lol.

KLAB 09-10-2013 05:03 PM

I dont think anyone wants to drive through at night lol. We couple plan to meet at North Conway in the morning, cruise thru mid day and get lunch then drive up to the notch. There would be plenty of light around 3/4, people could split up after that.

Or cruise up to the notch directly in the morning drive down and get lunch before the cruise? Then North Conway. I just want you guys to come to the Woodstock Inn, its a great place to get food in a big group. There is a massive burger challenge featured on that show on the Food channel there, Man versus Food.

KLAB 09-10-2013 05:04 PM

Whatever you guys want to do, I would just like to meet up with you guys around the Meredith area either off 93 or near the lake. I think it would be better for Tony and Jow to go up 93 and back home 93. Going up 95 and 16 is a pita lol.

CamaroRacing12 09-10-2013 06:49 PM

I was thinking of it as a big loop. up 93 back down 16. or up 16 then back down 93 idc how we do it. but a nice loop would be good.

alex you are our fearless leader nowadays up to you.

This is how I would do it. I'll skip the burger challenge. LOL
