Formula413 09-17-2013 03:03 PM

How many people are planning on going Saturday?

SLP IROC-Z 09-17-2013 05:21 PM

I am!

KLAB 09-17-2013 06:25 PM

I'm pretty sure I'm going!

KLAB 09-20-2013 12:03 AM

So I was looking at admission fee's and it looks to me like I need to run street tires to compete in Street Chevy? How dumb is that... Or will my MT ET Streets qualify as street tires?

Formula413 09-20-2013 12:37 AM

You could call and ask but I'm 99% sure DOT drag radials would be fine. I think it means street legal.

:confused5: That makes sense to me

Street tires in a street class. I don't think it could be any simpler?

Formula413 09-20-2013 04:05 AM

Actually it isn't simple, that's why he asked. Many people refer to tires that aren't drag radials as "street tires" to differentiate them from DRs, but most DRs meet the requirements of street tires for most types of racing.

SLP IROC-Z 09-20-2013 05:32 AM

it says street legal, that means DOT. youre good

Slowhawk 09-20-2013 12:32 PM

Pretty much just no slicks. My ET Pro's are DOT.

Its not as simple as you think.

Thanks for the info guys looks like I can run any type of Street Slick.

Northeast Rod Run 09-20-2013 01:53 PM

Drag Redials are DOT approved, so those are considered street tires also, anytime I've seen a "street" class

CamaroRacing12 09-20-2013 02:03 PM

almost all street classes means Drag Radials or Bias ply radials. aka just no slicks kevo.

This Saturday? Can't make it I am doing a benefit golf tourney. I will be there Oct 5th though.

SLP IROC-Z 09-20-2013 02:49 PM

Bias ply radials? stick to lt1 tech knuckle head

Formula413 09-20-2013 02:52 PM

Are those like automatic manual transmissions?

SLP IROC-Z 09-20-2013 02:55 PM

unbelievable

Z28 09-20-2013 04:45 PM

What time does this shit show start?

KLAB 09-20-2013 05:15 PM

Yeah I've just never been teched in to an event like this wasn't sure if they consider street slicks. I didn't know if they were saying you can only run street sport type tires. Anyways thanks for the help guys.
