one crazy summer

well it has not been the best summer for me. on june 4th i was the victim on a careless driver. this was the first day of me driving my car after a long winter of getting it ready for the summer, i had just finished waxing the car and decided to take it for a quick rip down the road (i literally drove the car for 8 minutes total for the time i've owned it) when a guy in a 2004 tahoe crossed the double yellow line and took me out. i swerved just enough to avoid a 55mph head on collision and saved my life. they had to cut me out of the car and wanted to life flight me but i refused to fly.this guy's reason for this was he was reaching on the floor for a piece of paper that blew off the seat. so needless to say it has been a long painfull summer recovering from this and a complete loss of a beautiful Trans Am. i did buy another Bird to replace the 76. this one is a 1972 with an all aluminum pontiac engine topped with an F1 R procharger

That looks like it was a horrible accident but I'm glad you're doing OK. That really sucks that you just got it ready.

The 72 looks great!

The best thing is that your OK , it sux that the car got wrecked though from stupidity. Cars are always replaceable even the ones that you put a lot of blood and sweat into. The replacement looks amazing.

That's crazy, cars like that are nowhere near as safe as cars today. Very lucky indeed, but you got a nice replacement!

SLP IROC-Z 08-29-2013 05:26 PM

Glad youre ok man! Its a shame to see a 2nd gen like that get creamed but atleast you lived to own another one. The new one is sick!

bottledbird68 08-29-2013 08:57 PM

That sucks. At least it looks like the story has a happy ending

BadBird505 08-29-2013 09:52 PM

Thanks guys I really appreciate it. It was definitely an eye opener you don't realize how fast things can change in the blink of an eye. When I get a chance I will post some pics and info on the new ride.

Glad you made it out of that ok.
One must keep his head on a swivel to try and avoid IDIOTS on the roads!

Formula413 08-31-2013 03:37 PM

After seeing those pics I'm happy to see you are still here to post them! Bad luck, it could have happened to anyone. Looking forward to hearing about the new car.

Thats scary to see how bad the wreck looks, most important thing is that your ok. I had a 1973 firebird, not nearly as done up but I love the body style and front nose. Good luck with it.http://www.fquick.com/images/vehicle...6791367514.jpg
