Z06

I was never a huge Vette fan since they always seemed to sit too low to the ground for me. My mom has a 86 and it's not bad, but I have always been an f-body fan.

The new Z06 looks so nice though.

I hope they have it out at the New England Auto Show. It looks killer

My84Z 01-14-2014 04:45 AM

Car is insane!

ZFreie 01-14-2014 12:37 PM

When they first showed the new vette I was like look at this ugly thing, it's now my second fav gen corvette. I'd buy one, I had the money.

Formula413 01-14-2014 05:30 PM

That car is 800 kinds of bad ass. This is what a Corvette should look like. It can hang with the best exotics, it should have a radical design. It still has one of the highest price to performance ratios of any car you can buy.

Pretty awesome, has a record amount of downforce for gm's street cars as well. I can't wait to see what it hold on the skid pad

They won't. They will only have the Stingray there.

Slowhawk 01-15-2014 10:15 PM

I like it. Can't wait to tear one apart.

camarokid91 01-16-2014 03:53 PM

Its cool its just a shame they made it super charged. I hope the car is good for more than one power lap. The Zr1 and Zl1 both can only do short sessions then they get heat soak and puke. Super chargers don't work on track cars.

Zl1

It looks like $115,000 which is the price of the ZR1.

From the article:

Chevy did say that the new Z06 shouldn’t differ much in pricing from the outgoing model. With performance better than the ZR1, the Z06 is poised to be one hell of a performance bargain.

My84Z 01-16-2014 09:04 PM

The outgoing zo6 isn't 115k it's 70whatever. So hopefully in the 70's-80's how i read it

KLAB 01-16-2014 11:50 PM

I hope its under 100k so the C6 Z06 prices can drop a little. :klab:

I think you're right. The new Z/28 is 75K so it looks like it will be priced almost the same. I thought it would be a lot higher.

BryanH 01-17-2014 12:50 PM

I def like it.. but its not like the old days when the z06 was actually something you could afford and was still a competitive race car

Especially if you in tend to track it. Replacing carbon rotors and pads make me cringe thinking what they are going to cost. I will take a C5Z any day or GS.

smokinss 01-17-2014 02:38 PM

Unfortunatly with any corvette comes the dreded "Corvette Tax"!! LOL Have to pay to play when it comes to owning a ls powered vette.

LSX-Nation 01-17-2014 05:29 PM

They said if you could afford the c6 corvette z06 you could afford this one so shouldnt be over 80k

Formula413 01-17-2014 06:08 PM

It is funny how we all spend so much time talking about cars that hardly anyone can afford. LOL

I think it's because they look like rolling artwork, plus things like big HP/Torque numbers.

This is true. At one point I could probably afford a z06. At least the C5 version. C6 version I'd be pushing it. C7 forget it.

Also, if the CTS made some sort of in between NA V8 model, i'd highly consider it. All you get these days for an engine choice on the CTS is either a v6, or the ZR1 engine. That's a huge gap in between

KLAB 01-18-2014 01:51 AM

Someday Alex. I have a car that was once 25k in the 90's and you do too for ~4k. C5 Z06 prices are pretty affordable, I could see picking one up in the next couple of years. C6 will go down over the years also. The new styling of the C7 just made the C6's and C5's look very old.

For now, they are definitely something to talk about.
