Boston World Of Wheels, March 28 -30

Since I have never been there I'm going on either the 29th or the 30th. Maybe both days if the show is any good.

I got a hotel reservation checking in on the 29th at the:

Seaport Hotel
1 Seaport Lane
Boston, Massachusetts

Anybody else going to this show?

Z28 03-12-2014 06:18 PM

Im going to try and go, a guy i used to work with is competing and wants to take home first on a drag bike hes doing. He does awesome work and he placed 2nd last year.

That sounds very cool and I definitely want to check it out!

David, the show gets worse every year. I have been going for many years and I'm not going this year. Save your money.

I don't think it will take much to beat the Maratta Show (with only 2 f-bodies this year) so I'm going to check it out.

I'd like to bring the Z to either the Maratta Show or the World of Wheels show next year.

Kalstar 03-16-2014 01:40 PM

My car will be there in the Town Fair Tire booth.

Nice!!!!!!!!!

Your car makes a GREAT addition to the show. I'm looking forward to seeing it there!

Kalstar 03-27-2014 10:45 PM

WOW. This year is different!

Just left the World of Wheels show. What a difference a year makes, reminds me of what it was when I was a kid. GM performance is there with 2 C7, the new SS Sedan, the SEMA hot wheels 68 Camaro and a new body Camaro under a cover (guessing Z/28). Blue Momba from Speed is there. I counted 5 sema cars from last years show there. The show wasn't even finished being set up and there was eye candy everywhere. I will be looking forward to going on Saturday to see it in full stride.

KLAB 03-27-2014 11:54 PM

where do you get tickets

At the door.

I think they are $15.00 per ticket put I'm not 100% sure. Town Fair Tire has discount coupons if you go into one of their shops.

ls6monte 03-29-2014 01:42 AM

I changed my mind due to some friends going to be there saturday. I'll be in there after 4 or so.

Z28 03-29-2014 03:28 AM

Ill be there tomorrow around 6

DavidS 03-29-2014 11:01 PM

The show is 5x better than the maratta show. Driving around Boston is 5x worse though.

Getting in Kalstar's car was awesome. Getting out, not so much. I need to lose 20 pounds. It's a little tight in there.

Z28 03-29-2014 11:10 PM

I'm on my way there right now lol ill be taking pictures

Hi Dave, sorry I could spend more time with you had to get back to the Caoe with my son. Great seeing you again. Let's get together this summer, hopefully the Z28 will be ready soon.

KLAB 03-30-2014 09:04 PM

I was there yesterday it was a good time, your car looks good man!

Z28 03-30-2014 10:09 PM

Ill post pics when i get home

KLAB 03-30-2014 10:51 PM

I didn't even really take pics, just soaked it in with my eyes. There comes a point where its too many cars to be walking around looking through your phone.

Hey Jim, The Z is done except for a few small details and did pretty good at the 2013 Camaro Nationals. Out of about 14 cars in the Bowtie class, it was the only one to make it into the Legends class. 2014 will be tougher though since it's a 5000 point system and it goes on the lift. It's a different world there.....lol.

Your car was looking very nice at the show! After you left I was taking a few pictures of your car and the town fair tire girls were nice enough to take a pic with your car.

HA HA HA HA HA.

When I look at the pic and the one on the right, I'm thinking you're right. When I look at the one on the left.....I'm not 100% sure. lol.
At the show, she seemed very cool and was actually very nice.

Thx guys for the kind words.

Dave can't wait to see your car. It sounds like a epic car.

Just for the record it was not me that put the do not touch signs. I'm the type, more the marrier.

Formula413 03-31-2014 02:30 AM

The girls should have signs like that LOL

DavidS 03-31-2014 12:48 PM

I would give either of my nuts for the candy tangerine split bumper. Outstanding example of what can be done to a 2nd gen.

KLAB 04-01-2014 12:34 AM

I really wasn't a fan of that 2nd gen... I didn't like what they did to the interior, the flush mount door handles look like they belong on another car, if you're gonna go with the flush modern style you have to do flush mount glass on those cars, I also didn't like the sparkly black trim on the grill and headlight bezels. Its not just that the style isn't my taste but it just didn't seem impressive. The Formula 400 and T/A were much more impressive 4th gens to me.

I also scored a super treasure hunt Hotwheels corvette at one of the tables for $1 so that made it worth it.

You really caught a lot of details that I missed. Anybody else have more pics of the 1970 Z/28?

Kalstar 04-01-2014 02:54 AM

Not to side track this awesome discusion but after the show I decided to throw the book at my Z. In the coming months I will ask opinons and suggestions. The car is a 94 Z. It is a mild build 383 LT1 with a supercharger. All the boltons and lots of pretty parts. ABS is gone...line locks are in, weight reduction throughout, 10 miles on the motor 1000 miles on the trans. I wanted to keep the car period correct hence the LT1. It is an auto car so it is now running a 3600 stall. I plan on going with a strange rear this summer. Thinking center exhaust but not 100% convinced yet. Currently running old school 18's all the way around. Saw some awesome 3 piece at the show but ouch... 5k though if it finishes the car, not out of the question. Installing or have already installed new shocks, lowering springs, hardpan, LCA, torque arm, solid mount engine/trans mounts. This is a nothing crazy set up, guessing 400-420 whp. I really would like to do the 4th gens some credit, I want this build to be over the top and one of the best out there. Thinking custom graphic air brush and top quality paint job. I purchased a new hood, and spoiler already. Car is currently the 94 teal that came from the factory, not sure a color change or keep it original. If sky was the limit (keeping the drivetrain the way it is) what should be included in this car if I want it among the best?

That sounds like it will end up being on the front page of Camaro Performers.

It's going to be a show car?

Nice pictures! I can't believe that somehow I missed the rusty Chevy truck and the phone car.

Kalstar 04-02-2014 12:56 PM

Nice pics.

Dave, I was there on Thursday Saturday and Sunday and when the cars were leaving, there were outstanding cars that I completely missed.

Not sure what it was about the split bumper, just did it for me. I thought it was the best F body there.
