I just saw a.....something....
On the way home from TGI Fridays last night I saw a....something. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it but with misaligned wheels, I would be smashed into the guardrail had I let go of the wheel to take a picture lol. It was either a late 3rd gen or early 4th gen firebird, possibly trans am (it was night). But I've never, every seen anything like it. It had these wild tail lights that reminded me of the Ferrari look alike kit that they made for them but it was different. In big letters it had PONTIAC illuminated in red in big letters on the back. And I don't even know how to describe the body kit. Again, it reminded me of the Ferrari look alike kit but its lines were just clearly different. Even it's lights had more or an aggressive cut to them and I've never seen the nose of an F-Body extend that far and make that aggressive of a point. Or have a wing that didn't look like shit and like it came on the car from the factory. The thing was red with a nice exhaust and I gave him a confused thumbs up as I passed him. I still don't know what the fuck it was!!! But it was fucking nasty!!

where did u see it? did it have mass plates?
didn't notice I was kinda captivated by the whole car
could it have possible been one of the concept cars they had in the late 80s? I know there were some wild looks they had but I don't know if anyone have any of them
a tojan
a what?
I was thinking the same thing Joe! I believe there is one of those around that area.
Something like this?????? http://mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail...D=TV0F08-67615 They were based on the 3rd gen Firebirds of 86/87/88. |
definitely not. This thing way more curves, the taillights extended all the way out the the sides, it had a wing, it's front bumper was extremely pointed not flat like that. It was also all red in the back, plus where it says Tojan, it said Pontiac.

sounded like an 8, which I have heard of people fitting into Fieros, it was similar but not quite the same as the fiero front tho, and I think it was too long for a fiero
custom fab work maybe?
there used to a be a red fiero with an ls1 in it around..dont know if its still around tho.
I wish I got a pic of it so I could find out for sure
It might have been on the old site, but I remember someone posting up a third gen with a pretty exotic body kit on it that was from the eastern MA area. Whoever posted knew the story behind it too, who made the kit, how many were made etc. I can't remember what it was called though.
I was thinking Fiero too. They can def fit a V8 in them as thats what they do on the Lambo kit cars built of the Fiero and there are or were bodykits out there for those things that gave them that long nose and wide rearend.
sure it wasnt a fiero kit car?
I had a customer at my shop that used to do Fiero kit cars. On some of the nicer ones they used to lengthen the body to get the proportions correct. Maybe thats what you saw? Some of those cars had sbc's in them.
^^^ I wouldn't be surprized now if it was that. But I def will tell you it def gave off a firebird trans am impression and it was pretty impressive
Could be Mecham T/A, they were pretty nutso looking or an early 90'S t/a with a body kit too, was it these taillights?

definitely looks like the tail lights but it's hard to tell by just looking at the tail lights alone. Not seeing them on the car and all

1991-92 Trans Am and GTA had them, VERY rare so steal them if you can |
Proly not wing was way different, as were the body stylings
we will just never know what you saw while you fell asleep behind the wheels and dreamed of......
