I just bought a Pioneer 4 channel amp 1200 watts

Pioneer Mono sub amp
2400 watts
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181312295208...84.m1497.l2649
and a sub speaker
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200928874363...84.m1497.l2648
and 2 JBL 6X9s
http://www.ebay.com/itm/130947227837...84.m1497.l2649
Ill get the front speakers later.
So what do you think? I mainly listen to hard rock and classic rock.

The only audio I listen to in mine is open cutouts! Once in a while they are closed. lol

LOL yeah same here, but I need some tunes too!

Nothing wrong with Pioneer - but I feel like a few others are a little more sound/value focused:

I prefer Inifinity Reference Series for lower cost speakers:
Infinity Reference Series
I'm not sold on that sub - I would also opt for a little more power handling - I've heard Dayton Audio is a good sound/value:
Dayton Audio 10" Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coil (Wire in Parallel for maximum power)

For Amps - I've tried a number of different Mid Range Audio Brands, and plan to replace my amps this spring - my research has found the HiFonics to be a good value these days:
4 Channel - Zeus Series
Sub Amp - Brutus Series

And don't forget about RCAs & Power Wire & Distribution/Fuse Blocks: I've used KnuKonceptz in a few different applications :
Karma Series RCA
Power Wire

You can also check - OnlineCarStereo.com for other options

But yeah with loud cars you need loud tunes:medium-smiley-114:

Ok system is installed but I have a clipping issue with anything over very low volume?
can it be a bad ground? im getting 14.0 volts to the amps?

frankzlt1 06-08-2014 04:44 PM

Could it be overloading? Causing the problem.

DAWG 06-08-2014 10:39 PM

left front speaker was shorted to ground. all fixed
First test was pulling up next to a Honda civic with some rap crap playing.
Ted Nugent stranglehold was my weapon of choice.
Totally drowned out the rap shit.
