Tuning for LT1

I'm looking for someone that can tune my lt1. I just changed my rear gears to 373 and need to tune for the change. Also like to improve the pcm a little to make car run better, shift points ect. If anybody have any suggestions besides LS swap lol. Thanks

Speaking from personal experience, I would stay away from J&M motorsports.

Other people have also had issues: http://ls1tech.com/forums/eastern-me...sports-ct.html

I don't have any experience with Jannety Racing, but others have had problems: http://ls1tech.com/forums/gen-5-cama...ng-ent-ct.html

I agree Dave. I was thinking of buying the equipment to do the tuning myself but it's really expensive and just for me to tune a mainly stock motor I would be just using it once and it would just sit. I found a few people on line tht come highly recommend tht I may just send to but it just would be a lot easier to have someone local.

Well - PCMForLess.com is still around and does mail order - that's how my car was tuned and zero issues in years.

Curious who else is even still out there now for LT1?

If your really looking for the best solution: convert to an LS1 ECU conversion
TorqueHead.com - they have full on kits to make it as easy as possible.

Then - you can have just about any LS1 tuner (aheem - SloHawk) tune it without issue.:Dance2:

I'm wanting to go tht torque head system soon. My problem with my car is in still have at least 2 more times I have to go through emissions in my state and I don't want to change over and then have issues when I have to go to emissions because they plug into the car to see if the sensors are working. Definitely the coil system is a much better ignition system and I will go tht way in the near future.

Might be worth sending them a note - to ask about that - you can't be the first with that question - and it's certainly an important question (here in CT they are never retiring emissions for OBD2 cars)

My impression is that since that system is connecting up using the factory ECU Harness that the same type of sensor data is being used - and there would be zero impact to the emissions testing - all it really does is check sensors and readiness states - sounds like that should still be all there and working - but they should be able to tell you.

I have asked some mechanic friends of mine that question if I changed the system over and they didn't think it would be any problems since it's a plug and play system and it's going to be a better ignition system. I only have to keep this system for approximately 4 yrs anyway and the car runs good I just need a couple things done right now and for the moment it's cheaper for me to just tune it than go and spend the 2k on a new system. But I'm still going to ask someone at theach state emission level to see the what if question.

For your situation I would say a mail order tune makes the most sense.

I tune my own because I'm always changing something. If you lived closer I'd help you out. Moehorsepower still does mail order tunes for LT1s. He's is over on LTXtech.com. If you hurry he is having a special till the end of the month.
