Craigslist finds section!

Do it! How about a section for strictly craigslist ads? Post up some links you think other people would be interested in? That way there would be none posted in the f/s section and would make craigslist searching better... Just an idea.

Maybe just do a sticky instead of a whole forum?

We have one on another forum I moderate and it works out good. Keeps things less cluttered.

yeah im thinkin along the lines of Alex here and making a sticky'd thread in the F/S section.

I was thinking about this idea today and I'm not quite sure what would be the best way to consolidate Craigslist links. The only snag is that an ad on Craigslist will only be around for a few weeks at the most, so whether we made a sticky or a separate sub forum it will quickly turn into a collection of mostly obsolete links. And trying to prune it to include only current ads would be a lot of work. So I just wanted to bring this back up and see if anyone had any suggestions for how we could create a space for Craigslist finds that wouldn't turn into a mess.

is there any way to make the section delete a thread after so much time

ILuvPizzaTimes10 12-30-2009 05:56 AM

thats what i was thinking. i should be able to do that. make a sub forum in the lounge. and the rules or promotions of that thread wopuld be it auto prunes threads after say 2 weeks of in activity. and the reason i say inactivity is because even if the add is gone people could still be talking about it for what ever reason. or like always its a post whoring thread haha and rather keep it if its active then to have it just disappear out of the blue. SOOO im gunna look into that and see what i can come up with.

I'm not feeling the sticky idea... It would be harder to find things or search, it would just be one long never ending thread, where if it was a section you could actually browse through different titles.

Which ever option would allow the auto pruning that Pizza suggested would be the best.
