Slicks or DR tire size

So if I wanted to put slicks or DR's on my car to help me out at the track, what sizes (bare minumum to maximum) should I be looking for?
The car as 17's now.

get some et streets like someone else sold you lol 26x10.5x 16 however if you want to put something on what you have you can get the 275 mt et street radial or some nitto's. However I would get some 16 inch stockers and put some etstreets on there or get some 15" prostars or drag rims and get the same thing just in a 15 inch size.

So would these work: http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/pts/1433247532.html
Just looking to help the 60' not do any earth shattering times the few times I plan on racing it.

Or how about 30x10.5x15?

And yeah, I remember those.
Now who did I sell them to after I totaled my car?

those are alittle skinny seems like mustang tires to me. you don't wannt go bigger then a 26 tall or else it will lower your gear ratio. I would also stick with atleast stock size tire just in a drag radial. Nitto's can be driven on all the time the mt's not so much

I'm going to Cecil Nov 14th with my turbo mopar pals.
The track is rented (i.e., closed, only 200 cars for the day) with some Mustang guys & I just want to run some decent times with 2.0 or so 60's not the 2.3-4's I run now.

they will work but are a bit narrow and that is a mustang rim fox body i think. also if you dont want a taller tire i would go with a 274 40/75 in a micky or 305 in a nitto if you have the rims for it.

30" tall et streets are pretty serious tires. I doubt anyone here is pushing enough power to really easily blow those things off. I would rather have a tall tire with a lot of sidewall than a wide tire for more traction. I run 27x10.5 Et streets and would go taller if I could fit it. I would find out what fits first then go to the track see what you run and then go to

www.f-body.org/gears

and find out what heigh tire you would run which would allow you to finnish the end of the quarter right before shifting into OD.

My84Z 10-26-2009 10:46 PM

Yeah but skiff if he goes taller then 26" he will lose gearing and with a heavier car like his he needs the gear to get rolling. Now that you say you only want 2.0's butch just get some nitto's or something et streets will be overkill if that is all you are looking for.
