ASUS 23" on Newegg. Thats the size I'm looking for and the price range. and 5ms seems pretty good, but I'm looking for something with a short base I like the bottom of the screen close to the desk because I have a rise shelf for the monitor. hmmmmm

i avoid led back lighting currently, led back lighting hasnt been out long enough for me to trust it fully.

i mean heck, my monitor is almost 5 years old and just now starting to lose its brightness.

ive never had a monitor lose its brightness? do run your all the way up or something. i Always turn the bright Way down and run the contrast way up. i think for me it makes a better picture. and the good thing was on my last few monitors as you turned down bright it also ran the backlight down as well. "powersaver" but hey it worked! and the LG LED's are were its at. not sure on anyone else as i havent used them yet But i cant believe the quality and picture on the screen!

I had an Asus 19" LED monitor that I gave to my cousin for college. he still uses it and it seems to work just fine. only had 1 smalllllll pixel issue in one of the corners, but still not bad for a 4yr old monitor.

mine is far from a quility monitor, and lcd are back lit by florescent(sp) bulbs, which over time slowly get dimmer. i always turn my brightness up to max, which kills the light faster, but i dont care really my monitor is hadrly noticabley dimmer. most monitors have a controll for the "temp" of the color of the light. the reason your seeing a purple hue to white is the color temp is way to high. mine is close to true white and is set for 6500k, if i turn it up to 9300k is looks just likehow you described the acer.

food for thought

ILuvPizzaTimes10 12-29-2011 09:34 PM

ohh i went threw EVERY color setting on that piece of heap and even with the acer tech on the phone they could Not get it to look right. so i figured it might just be my shitty graphics card(old comp) and tryd it on my wifes. still the same purple bullshit hue, So i dumped that heap!!!! others have sed the same thing in reviews.
