can anyone tell me what that part is on the left side of the motor with the belt around it and the wire coming off it?

Could be a vaccum pump?

SLP IROC-Z 06-23-2012 12:51 AM

Exactly, notice that there is no belt driving the water pump pulley other than the one connected to the motor :D

yeah i never had an electric water pump, now that i look at it, it makes sense.

ZFreie 06-23-2012 02:06 AM

Ive never seen an electric like that either, my first guess was gonna be a vacuum pump also lol

My84Z 06-23-2012 02:11 AM

That is so assinine lol

SLP IROC-Z 06-23-2012 02:54 AM

youll see alot of drag cars at the track like that. more or less an old school electric water pump setup. i would imagine the idea behind it is primarily to be able to circulate the coolant in the pits.

ILuvPizzaTimes10 06-23-2012 03:31 AM

Yeah its not for street use! Haha drag only. Like joe sed only to cool the car off in the pits. They only run the pump at like 1700 rpm.
