Well, plans changed. Found a mint 1979 TA. So we swapped the whole drivetrain into that. Also kept all stock gauges working. So, interior looks 100% stock. Can be found on my shop facebook page.

Drove it 1000 miles last year. Got bored and put on a blower and methanol. I'm stuck at 680rwhp so far,looking to get over 700 on my dyno with the stock...

Truthfully I don't like GTO's. Just see it as stepping backwards a lot by condition and usefulness . Old 99 car with 3 speed or 06 car with 6 speed.

At minimum buy the 99 off a loan as a 2nd car.

They are expensive and you want the good brand/company. They can be a bitch to tune in. That's 8 throttle body's that have to be sync'd.

Trap door is a great way to go. Makes it a lot easier, expecially if you have problems in the future. Just make sure you seal the hole back up so fumes don't kill the inside of the car.

Well, little late but never rip the lifter out the bore. Take the cam out and drop it down. Just did one today like that. The cut's in the lifter bore will probably bleed oil pressure. Hopefully not...
