haven't been hassled in this one but stopped plenty of times in my 94' and at least 3 times in my 86' while I was out of state.
the beak on the birds just doesn't look right with a holder on it (esp. 93-97)
plus I was told once that you didn't need one if your car didn't have a place for it on the front.
I know a few who keep it on under the cover on 98-02 birds. this way they can always say it's there, but rarely get stopped for it.
