No I know, I was going on LS1TECH to find some more parts to buy lol and I saw MAF on my screen and clicked. I'm 100% using a screened one but its amazing how many people do swear by de-screening.

I'll say it until I'm blue in the face: de-screening the MAF is a non-mod. The screen is not a restriction in anything except very extreme setups, and even then not much. And it is NOT there to act as a backup air filter. The people who say it catches bugs and crap have a lid or filter housing that is not sealing correctly. The MAF screen is there to help the MAF get a more accurate reading. The end.

Descreening is fine if you have it tuned. On a stock car it gains 0hp and the ones I tested actually lost hp and torque. On a 400hp car it can gain 5-8hp but the car is tuned then too.

When you pull the screen it will lean out the car and add timing due to a lower load being read by the MAF.This put's the fuel trim into a heavy positive which has a big affect on A4 cars because the computer drops line pressure which slowly burns up the tranny's. For M6 cars it just runs leaner and could cause engine wear.

The descreening is a Newbie mod.
