Default ECU?

I know pizza looked into this a lot. If doing a EFI setup what would be a better computer/harness to use? Are they all the same?

My thinking is Victor EFI intake like the one Don is using but instead of a elbow just use a TB like a carb base like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ACC-74202S4/

you want ATLEAST a 99+ but preferably a 2001-02 PCM if your going to run power adders at all. 1998 is what im stuck with for now and its a single year harness and pcm. wouldnt go with it unless it was free! haha

if you get the EFI connections harness and pcm standalone setup they have it pinned and the sensor plugs already in the right places(LS1 sensor placement is WAYYYY different). all you have to do is hook her up loom it the way you want and turn the key. After a tune of course.

id say go with what they offer for a stand alone harness if your gunna go that route. trying to make an LS1 engine harness standalone is no easy task and VERY time consuming. if i didnt have a 1998 car with a 1998 harness and PCM i would have gone that route and just spent the money and been done with it. alot less headaches.

victor is a bit much for a 6.0 . A FAST 90/92 will get you plenty of power. the harness and PCM really depend on what you choose for an intake set-up and which accessory drive. Any 99+ PCM is good but the pin outs differ slightly between vehicles, so if you want to use a truck intake get a truck PCM, F-body get an F-body, etc etc.

Ok then a Victor Jr. lol I've heard people say things about Victor Jr. intakes on 355's and how they wont run for crap, power band will hurt the car etc. But i've a vic jr. on many motors and seen them run really well and a lot better than people said they would/should.

Could I use a standard truck harness and ECU? I know Don can tune them too so it cant be that....

you can use any harness you want, just might have to modify it a little. I would go with the GMPP intake over a Victor JR for a 6.0.

Victor JR isn't all that great and a victor is too much. The GMPP intake puts down some decent numbers for a smaller cube engine

Great now I NEED to do a 408 lol.

Just poking around exploring all my options. Anyone know if the stock fuel rails work with the GMPP intake? I know the edelbrocks dont work.

no they won't, you need something like the FAST rails. All the OEM rails have a crosspipe
