It makes sense. If you have enough speed and hit the water at the right angle I would think it would be exactly like skipping a rock across the water. I would say real.

I'm going with BS, the ratio of weight to surface area of a person is MUCH higher than a flat rock, you simply can't push down against the water with the weight of your body and get traction. There's lots of crafty fake stuff just like this floating around the internet, remember the video of the guy going down a water slide, flying 300 feet through the air and landing in a kiddie pool?

i think its possible and real...u can cross water on dirt bikes/motorcycles and snowmobiles i dont see how it couldnt be done if u go fast enough by a human that weighs less than any of those and its not like he went all the way across the lake lol
