It doesn't matter if this get together was "put on" or "sponsored" by this group or not.
Does that means if this group doesn't "put on" or mention a gathering or a show to go to, no one from here goes?

There were allot of "I'm goings" & allot of no shows is what Justin was talking about.

dude ur a lil too upset imo. it was a questionable day weather wise. people got busy what can ya do? dont be upset at people because they couldnt make it to a meet, thats the biggest mistake u can make on these forums imo. people have lives, things come up this is a hobby and isnt #1 on peoples prioritiy lists. just relax and come out to another meet.

Who me?
Not even close as it doesn't bother me, I don't get riled easily, unless shear stupidity steps in (not talking about here, just in general), so no, I'm not upset, not even one iota.

What I am doing is trying to be the voice of reason & point out the point that both sides were trying to make, which has escaped the group noting the especially lame "it wasn't put on by us" or the "not one of our official meets" excuses.

It should not matter who organized an event is what I'm saying.

Example:
Another club sets up an event, they extend invites to other groups, get lots of "I'm going" replies & then they get blown off with a ton of no shows.
They'd see it as rude & not invite said groups who blew them off again.

This'd hold true more so for show events where head count does matter fars as buying trophies, shirts, food, table reservations, etc. as it then becomes a financial thing.

Just trying to put a different perspective on this simple meet that seems to have been missed for future thoughts when people say they are going to a planned event.
Let's put it this way:
If this group planned an event, shelled allot of cash to set it up, got lots of "I'll be theres", then little to no one showed, how would "we" feel about it?

Just remember these words next time no one shows up at an "official" meet:

Hey tony...you should of been there wtf!! Jk..nahh I know I am not upset at all. Can't be had a good time. Like I said and I heard yesterday..yes things happen..work and stuff comes up..no biggie..a lot fo guys..not just here on a lot of the forums they all bailed. Heck I would of thought more people from nepontiac would of shown up...considering its where we started with the idea..but they all bailed too but 3 of us showed.

Now the weather thing..again sorry this is the modern world. From TV , computers to apps for phones with live radar..it was a fine day. And even so this is not a track day. That I can understand but not for something like this. But that leads me to this..

We all been online enough to know local boards that fold from lack of getting out and meeting up.yes it is a hobby as with everyone else on here. And part of the hobby is going out to things like this or sponsored meets. Before long we got a lot of people not going to "sponsored meets" and then it turns into a club where a lot of t shirts are hanging in the closet since no one shows up for anything anymore.

It has happened to a few forums I know and have been on. And maybe posting a "who is going" thread is not a good idea..since life does happen. But if someone does say they are going to go..hobby or not people should make an attempt..and again its not just people here it was a lot of other people. From other forums...and yes missing out on one show is not going to shut down a forum I know that. I am speaking about the general interest in the hobby.

Now pictures...yes there were some cool cars there and when my computer gets fixed will be postin them for those who didn't go hahahaha later going to watch some lightning now.

seriouslly??? lame excuse?? i dont think so. the way he put it was he was blaming us for lack of people...obv it was posted on other sites and obv alot of people didnt show so dont come on here blaming this group(whether it was intential or not thats how it came off). Like tony said other shit comes up and other priorities come first. If u dont want to come to official meets then dont but dont call what i said a lame excuse cause thats bs. Im not gonna sit here and let us be blamed for someone elses turn out.. Its not like this whole site said they were goin and some of us had other shit that came up its fuckin life and its not like its the end of car meets as we kno it. Name any one club or forum where people dont back out on shit..bet u cant...give me a break. Dont come on here and try to stir shit up with those kinds of comments. Your not being the voice of reason at all when u call someone elses post idiotic and are being one sided..And whos shelling out cash for that type of meet? ...no one

o and it would be another thing if the people that posted they were going just didnt show up or at least post up "hey guys sorry i wont be able to make it" which in this case i think mostly everyone that ended up not being able to go did. Anyways sorry about ur turn out. It happens. Its happened on here and every other site ive been apart of that sets up meets. Theres always next time.

na its cool guys i get what ur saying, ur just dissapointed thats all, i would be too. thats why whenever people post up meets i usually just say maybe unless i know im definetly going. but u say remember those words. i will remember them lol after every meet offical or not and people dont come and some people get mad im usually the one reminding them that its no big deal and that people have much more important things to do if things come up. u got to remember this is a hobby a thing to do in ur spare time. if something comes up something comes up. no reason to get upset. i think only like 3 or 4 people actually said they were gonna go on here so i dont think it was a deal breaker or anything.

I think we got a loss in translation from mind to keyboard for what greg was saying to the guy who posted he was dissapointed in a no show just from here...I think his idea was he took the chance drove a long way and it was nice out. For some its not that far could of jumped in their car and met up with us...I was there those two were there..we made the best of it. I'm not mad at all and maybe seeing things from their side since I talked to them..truthfully when they were ther along with the rest of us we laughed it off and enjoyed the day..that's all.
I think greg is saying that in the future things do go both ways and well sure anyone can so "don't go" but how long before those turn into complete no shows for a club or forum meet. Like I said above it has happened and still does.
Sponsored or not truthfully each online club does need one another..and in some ways no shows do hurt all of us in trying to do things like this.

Either way its all good..
