Well I was initially greeted by a flat tire on the grand prix that I took off and brought to Mavis to get fixed. Ends up being a whole in the sidewall, tire is junk. OK no biggie it happens. So I went to a friends wedding and on the way home I get a slight shimmy in the brakes of the Tahoe that gradually gets stronger. So I limp the truck home staying off the brakes and about a 1/2 mile from my house KABOOM! the right rear tire literally blows apart and I lose brakes completely. get it whoaed down and am sitting very precariously on one of the narrow roads that people fly down by my house, at midnight. I see a gaping whole in the sidewall of the tire so I made the decision to drive it the last 1/2 mile home slowly and use the trans to stop the truck when I get home which went fine but there is some pretty bad damage to the truck. Without even getting the wheel off the tire is obviously DEAD, the rear rotor has a crack in it and I am not even sure what caused the brake issue yet. fun fun!
Edit: alot of the damage on the tire is from driving it, the initial blow out is by the valve stem ![]() ![]() ![]()
