Or it could be he hasd no more air pump or EGR valve and there still in the tune!!!

Yeah, first step is to scan it. Cleaning the MAF is not a bad idea in general, but I would use MAF cleaner (available at most parts stores), the other cleaners can leave residue behind.

Thats good info. I've seen others hurt MAF's before.
