Aw, David, that's nothin'. My car was in 'paint jail' at another shop for 16 years before Mike got his hands on it. So, my car is going to be back in my garage after almost 18 years!!! Talk about a strange feeling!!

BTW, for those following along at home, this is my car:
(Our cars must be blood brothers by now)

Wow!!! That's the amount of time needed to get a kid from birth to college (or into a job).

Did you get your garage space ready yet? I loaded up my Kloter Farm shed with junk.

Even if I was retired, my work would not be that great. My welding is terrible and Mike pointed out a bunch of hacks on the car and ended up telling me "you don't have to admit you did it.....just say the former owner did it". LOL.

No problem and sounds great! I think you live about 1/2 hour from my house so we should be able to meet up at my house, your house, or somewhere in the middle.

I'm getting there. Just a few more things to rearrange & organize and I'm ready!

I got delayed a little. My sister & brother-in-law recently moved to Galstonbury from Michigan. I was carsitting their 58 Austin Healey Sprite and a 73 Chinese military sidecar motorcycle along with all my brother-in-law's tools & garage stuff. Still have the sidecar bike, but hope to get rid of it soon.

Cool....move all the junk out of the way so that the 68 can regain it's rightful place in the garage.

You should also have a thread dedicated to the numbers matching, bought new by your dad, very-rare, L30/M20.

You can include videos showing it burning up the streets of Granby & East Granby!!!

You're probably right. Funny, I was talking to my Dad last night and he was saying how most people who see the car driving down the road won't appreciate how rare it really is.

However, the whole journey of restoring this car has taken an emotional toll on me and my Dad. We've been through so much that we just want the car back on the road now (and not think about the past for a while). We are thankful (although much lighter on cash) that Mike has been able to make things right with the body & trim. Maybe one day I'll put something together.

Now, back to your car. I was at the shop yesterday. Saw the hood stripes on and the windshield in. It looks great! I can't wait to see it with some big meats on the back!

Good thing you're getting rid of the existing rear tires, because they keys were it it, so I decided to ...... oh, wait, that only works once.
