Tested 102mm setup on my car

Put on the 102mm setup,ported with 102mm TB and 102mm Lid. Car picked up 20ft/lbs of torque from 3k to 5krpm and 10-15hp at the same area's. The Super Victor setup was evan or above in the higher rpm area's.

As for the cars response. Car ran perfect with the Super Victor then ran like Garbage with the FAST.I did some tuning but the FAST would surge bad at idle(probly due to my cam at 106IC)

So the Super Victor went back on for now.I've got some more Cam testing to do.

Off the top of my head the #'s were FAST - 526hp/504tq Super Victor -549hp/495tq. I figure it would be 580-590hp on my old dynojet setup.

So the FAST just didnt cut it? i kinda figured it wouldnt. funny how it didnt make THAT much less power. so what else can be done for the running issue? and if it ramn fine and had the little bit of peak hp loss would you have kept it?

If it ran better -probly for alittle while.It did drop power alot after 6200rpm but that is more likely the Cam. I'll keep it for a bit and maybe spec a Cam for the FAST to see how it does.

sounds like a good little test! must be nice having a test car to figure all this shit out. now if some one comes in and goes HEY how will this setup work you can say SHITTY unless you get this cam!

We tested all the basic cams years ago on a few cars.Saturday Cam swaps were the norm.Got it down to 1.5hr's to do.

Yesterday it took us about 4 hours to fit the 102 setup. Got fed up on the dyno and switched back to the SV. The dyno runs were 45 minutes inbetween the intake swaps. Was running the dyno at 9pm last night with the cutout open.

Luckilly no neighbors.At the other shop I use to dyno at midnight. Cops would come by and hang out to shoot the shit.

Do you think with a cam designed to produce a stronger midrange you could make enough power there to offset the higher RPM power loss? Then you can lose your "big and gay" hood
