Thanks! They finally cleared all of the problems and the closing is in 1 hour.

Also, my copy of the Money Pit that I ordered on Amazon just came in.

Thanks!!! It helps to have the world's greatest attorney on your side. I didn't know it until the closing, but due to the weird pile of issues with this house, he made Wells Fargo eat the title insurance costs. He saved me over 4K but the real estate agent was pissy since it ate into her commission. Screw her. She sucked anyway. Even after the closing she said that I did most of the work. Whenever she wanted to know the status of what was going on with the seller (Wells Fargo), she had to call me. Most of the time she called "Wells Fargo"..."Bank of America".

Thanks Dawg! At some point, I might need to take you up on that and I'm taking your advice on the siding.

Right now, there is a three car garage and room for 3 horses in the same garage/stable combination. The problem is posts & beams everywhere. I've gotta figure out what can be cleared out to fit more cars in. I've got my eye on a real nice and original 67 SS but I'm up to my eyeballs in alligators between the house and what it's going to cost to restore the house.

Im betting the lawyer did as I said.
the take it or leave it deal works wonders in your situation.
My siding will start soon so you can come over to see the work these guys do.
Ive decided on ALSIDE siding (seems thicker than most with a good warranty)
Highland window company will install the siding, new porch, storm doors and windows.

You got it exactly right Dawg.

I'd like to check out your siding when it's done. I will probably go with the Timbermill siding you recommended since it looks closer to the original color.

the one issue I didnt like about timbermill is that they will warranty the material but not the labor for replacement.
But damn that stuff looks good!
