Hahahaha.
Glad I posted this vid. Its funny I go to the local hangout on friday and saturday nights and B.S. with the other f-body guys. There are a few stangs that are always there and none of them will ever run any of our cars. But yet they will leave the lot like Tom Cruise in Days Of Thunder. One kid tried telling us his notch ran 12.7 @ 116? We were like WTF kinda MPH is that? Everyone there just laughed at him when he pulled away and looked all slow and shit.

Something is wrong in that vid. Either the camaro is modded more than they say, or the mustang driver cant drive. |

I dunno, the new GT is supposed to run low 13's high 12's, right around an 01-02 F-body time
Plus do I even have to go into the GT500?

Fbody owners are comparing the best times recorded (with good 60's) ever with a stock ls1 compared to avg magazine times done on stock tires on zero mile engines. You dont catch and then pass a car that has enough power to post up 5mph better trap speeds. To give you reference 5-6 mph is the difference between a stock ls1 and a stock honda s2000. If you replaced the camaro in this video with an S2000 and the ford with a camaro.. I think you'de feel much different and you'd prob be laughing at the honda guys who think their car is faster than a camaro. Of course this is an Fbody site and its not unbelievable but lets be realistic here guys. I think if anything the fbody has some mods. Lid/exhaust/tune maybe gears would be all it needs to make the difference |

realistic of what dude? ur comparing a "magazine" stock mph if ur saying its a specific 5mph difference. was that a race at the track? no. its not unrealistic at all. ls1s stock ran high 12s to 13s and thats not taken from a magazine and its not new news. I dont go by magazine times or comparisons. Proof is in the pudding the car lost to the camaro and im not that surprised. No one said the mustang was slow. but for u to say that the camaro couldnt/wouldnt beat it is the unrealistic statement. oh and mph means shit if u cant drive.

Here is the statement from ls1tech
I posted this at the end of the other thread, but figured it would be good to post by itself to clear some things up. I was in the SS. The guy driving the 5.0 owns both cars (he's had the 'Stang on order for months). Here is the run-down: The SS is a 2001 with 90k miles or thereabouts. The engine in it was mine and is out of a 2002 SS and has about 30k miles on it. The engine is stock other than a whisper lid on it. It has stock manifolds, stock cats, stock exhaust. It put down 334rwhp when it was in my car with 15k miles on it through the center exit SLP exhaust. Matt's car doesn't have that exhaust, but I doubt that effects the power output. I ran a 12.89 in my car with the motor and the stock F1s. The 5.0 had 8.6 miles on it when we left the dealership. We literally filled up and then ran. The car isn't broken in - AT ALL. Give her some time to loosen up and she'll pick up some speed. The traction control wasn't fully turned off in the 5.0 on the runs either. We didn't know you have to be stopped, brake on, hold the button down for 10 seconds, spin and top and spit out the window to fully disable it. That will make a difference as the 5.0 was cutting out on shifts. He can post in here what he feels on driving, but I can say that he most certainly knows how to drive and he was running full out. With the traction control completely off the result will be different. Once it has some miles on the clock the result will be different. How different, who knows? I'm still proud of my old engine - she's a good one!

ok so the motor wasnt broken in ...traction control thing i dont know enough about the mustang to argue it but ill give him the benefit of the doubt...pretty decent time on the ss tho. even broken in i still think it would be a good race.

Btw I said 5-6mph on avg. I am using about 105mph as an avg for a stock Fbody, and the mags have been putting the new 5.0s about 110-111. Now we find out the car has a lid and the mustang driver is an idiot.. not surprising |
