well im losing a shit ton of gear oil out of my pinion preload shim sooooo false alarm? lol filled it last week, drove it a day for about 50 miles and then drove it to work today...checked the level because there was a bit of a leak that i saw. i little drip but nothing major i thought. So i just topped it off to make sure it was all good....i topped with off with 3 quarts of gear oil lol and it was making some weird sounds by the time i was home lol

Did u put limited slip additive in? Might be the noises also if you put too much which 3qts is more tgen mine holds it will leak out the front and can ruin the seal

I hope your not putting 3 quarts into a stock rear. Since they only take 2.

Yeah, if that. I can't even put the whole second quart in before it comes out the fill hole. My pinion seal leaks and leaves a ring on the chassis over the joint but I never top it off and after about 10k miles almost two quarts still comes out.

I have a locker and much more vibration than previoulsy. and its a ford nine inch from what i understand most guys run just over 3 quarts in them and either way I fit in three quarts and then another three quarts. The breather looks like its drenched in oil tho and there is oil on the left tail pipe. I have the breather up next to the gas tank, I don't know how i could get it any higher without going into the gas tank

So is it leaking out the pinion or the breather?
