Your absolutely correct, I think HIDs are actually illegal unless they are factory or installed in projector housings. But yeah, Hids perform way better in a projector housing because it controls the light better. But in this case, just throwing hids in the factory housing is a world of difference haha. My headlights SUCKED before.

BlackBird Lighting has solutions including Projectors, but it's not cheap.
They just recently added the 93-97 Camaro Kits, and from what I've heard it's $1k for all four and ~$600 for lows only. If you really want to jam an HID Kit into the Sealed Beam Lenses, I'd recommend: DDMTuning.com I've had their 55W Kit in my older Legacy for going on 2 Years now with ZERO Issues. I would recommend the Battery Connection Upgrade though as HIDs do take some juice to startup and having that makes them turn on EVERY Time without issue. So $55 out the door for a 35W Kit with Slim Ballasts is totally worth it...

problem with just tossing them in there is there Not actually as bright as they could be at all. alot of the hids beam is scattered far past any usable angle. hence the blinding people. you may think its funny. but its really just a huge waiste of money! invest in the correst lamp assembly and you will be amazed at the difference of the same HID bulb in the correct setup!

pizza is correct. while i loved my HIDs in my LT1 the beam pattern is nothing like how my retrofits in my WRX. Sure it put out more light than the stock headlights would but that doesnt take much. BLS make quality kits and i kinda wish that i hadnt sold the kit i had for the WS6.

you have retrofitted lights in the wrx?? nice. I retrofitted my saturn winter beater lights, and my step dads f250. I'd do a 4th gen if I had one :3 LT1 is more challenging...
