He was not familiar with the 3.4. They stopped making the f**king LT1 pump.

Looks like I'm going for the rebuild then.

The best I can tell, the LT1 uses an exterior pump and the 3.4 uses the integral pump. He told me today he cannot rebuild mine.

Any ideas on where I can get a racing pump or find someone to rebuild mine to racing specs?

manual rack and pinion? no pump. youd be moving so would you really need the fluid assist. and i think with a higher turn ratio it would prevent some over steer?

That might be OK for the track, but I do drive the car around town a lot as well.

This car is really pissing me off.

have you ever driven a car with a manual rack? its not the same as losing your power steering at ALL!! with the added turn ratio and design from a dead stop it feels no worse then turning a set of 45" tires on a lifted jeep with power steering is about the best comparison i can give you. you feel it dont get me wrong but its not a work out to park the damn thing either. thats one of my last steps on my car.

My first couple cars had manual steering.

I'll humor you for a minute. What are the mods involved?
