Default 255/55R16 Will they fit ok?

Looking at putting a bit bigger tire in the rear of my 99 Z and was wondering if anybody else has stuffed a set of these under the rear of their cars? They will be on my stock rims, so no backspacing issues to worry about, hopefully.

do you mean 255 50 16s? those will fit, a 255 55 should fit as well but i cant say ive seen that size. 255 50 16s are half an inch taller than a 245 50. 255 55 would be 1.5" taller than a 245 50 and an inch taller than a 255 50.

Good info Joe. And yes either size will fit under the car. They are only about 9.5 inches wide.

Yeah, just was wondering about the added height more than anything. Passed on the tires in question, looks like they were used on a car with some serious camber issues and dude offered no receipt from his shop. If that didn't raise a HUGE red flag I don't know what would have lol.
