Default 5.3 vs. 6.0

This is all hypothetical of course..

Both engines are using stock short blocks, aftermarket cam, heads have just clean up work done, Edelbrock carb intake, appropriate sized carb. Both have properly setup valvetrains.

5.3 makes peak power at 7500rpm
6.0 makes peak power at 6500rpm

How close would they run together? I know the displacement hurts the 5.3 but the added RPM will help a bit.

At what point do stock castings fall on their face and prohibit more power?

running 5.3 heads on the 6.0 Or running stock 6.0 heads? and what 6.0 LQ4 or 9? makes a WORLD of difference.

my pal has 5.3 heads on an lq.

I look at the 5.3 as the modern 327 and the 6.0 as the 396 or 350.

But being all stock heads and everything else the same and of course this is oppinion i'd say about 100 hp difference and about 1 second faster in 1/4.

Stock heads on both, I know 5.3 heads would help the other engine to a point. I didnt think the difference would be terrible but if you think a second then screw that lol

Both blocks are iron as well

**I HAVE ZERO INTENTIONS TO DO A LSx SWAP**

Its just been going through my head a bit how close it would be. You see a lot of 6.0 swaps and some 5.3 Turbo swaps but I'm more curious as to how they would compete N/A. RPM can really help a engine like the 5.3

The 6.0 will rev to 7500rpm no problem. Did a carbed one last spring that revved to the moon. Stock block, heads cammed/springs and 850cfm carb.
