Enfield 4th of July Car Show
First show since the front-end makeover... the town of Enfield runs a week-long deal, and this past Sunday they ran their first ever car show on the town green accompanied by a Taste of Enfield with dozens of food vendors plus dozens more vendors selling everything from paintings to kitchen gadgets. Lots of activities for kids and families, plus they also had a impressive K-9 demonstration with about 5-6 K-9 dogs and handlers.
The show had a nice turnout... about 170 cars I heard. It was run by the Mopars in Motion Club, which is local and has maybe 275 members. Yes there were tons of Mopars, but a nice mix of old pontiacs, chevys, a few fords. Overall... a very nice local show, glad I went. It was a toss up... either this show or Cars and Coffee up at Kringle Candle. Would love to see a show like this in my town down the road. |

The blue beast is looking very nice! Pretty good turnout too.

Thanks... LOL, not good enough this time! A '68 6 cylinder all-original unrestored coupe took home a trophy. The judges looked at my car a couple of times, I think I heard one judge saying "oh... its a 4-speed?" Go figure. They had 25 "Best of Show" trophies and no classes, just picks by the judges.
You should've swung over its only 15 minutes or so from Granby. This coming Wednesday I'll hit the Maybury Equipment Show/Cruise in East Longmeadow. Nice gathering, always for a charity, about a mile and a half from my house.-Mike |
