The instructions include buying a PCM from a Lumina or something, so it is a swap.

If Don tells me he can tune what I have, I will hunt for a bin file.

I am totally down with this, but the car doesn't run well enough for the road. If I pay expenses, are you and Don willing to travel?

all the 3.4l 93'-95.5' are the same motor, yes it has ob2 connector but it is an obd1 computer. same as the v8 just a v6. I had a problem with my 94' way back when and had to replace the ECM. ended up with one out of a minivan.

they are tunable (although I've seen guys splice the connector out for an obd1 connector) gotta know what your doing though.

but doing it the way Mike suggests with Don is a much better and safer idea. your better off having towed your car to Don though.

find a friend you can pay with beer...

They guy with the swap said exactly that. Once I buy his harness and the a lumina PCM, I can use tunerpro and a chip burner. Exactly the route I was thinking of going. But, I need to make sure someone can tune it that way.

I sent Don an e-mail. If I don't get a resp soon, I'll give him a buzz.

Yes, for a tune, I will bring it to Don. To test if his shit works, it makes more sense to bring the SW to the car just to test it out.

This is what my friend sent to me who bought this dude's OBDI replacement harness:

You will need a BURN2 Chip burner, aldl datalogging cable (for obd-1), and a chip adapter set (comes with two 512 chips). You can get all this on moates.net for ~ 200$

if you need me to show you specifically what to get i can do that.

Aside from that you will need a custom harness, laptop for logging purposes, and 7727 pcm (common in vettes, lumina's etc.) The pcm is a waterproof version that can be mounted where your stock one was located.

To datalog you will need to download tunerpro RT. It is free and i use version 4.14 because it's the easiest to use imo even though there are newer versions out.

To burn chips you will need tunerpro (to change your files) and you will have to download drivers (on moates.net) for your burner to work. You will also need to download a driver IIRC for your aldl datalogging cable to work (also on moates.net).

Domn has all that and he has the AutoProm wich is a chip burner/reader and an ALDL datlogger. wait for his reply. see what hes willing to do. ive showed him how to run tunerpro and as long as the software is readyily available(wich i just checked and it is) Don can/will do it.

In other words - pull the trigger on the harnass and find a lumina PCM ASAP?

This PCM? http://www.oehq.com/acdelco-parts_AC...9-%20Reman.htm

Don is done with OBD1 computers. To do it right(well, somewhat) for a chip burned car it takes 4-5 times longer than the OBD2 cars. Thats means its alot of $$ to do it and I'd rather pass on the headache of getting it right.

Pizza- can't you make a LS1 harness fit? LOL
