What could it be?
Alright so I've just developed an issue my Z28. I really hope its not the opti...
So this is the second time this has happened to me but today I was driving home from work, engine was warm no issues driving. I take a right and give it a little less than half throttle and it hesitates slightly. I turn down my music and listen for any noises. Drives fine, no issues. The last street before mine i give it about 3/4 throttle and it backfires and my check engine light turned on. I drove it home parked it listened for any noises only thing is that the idle dropped a bit. I shut off the car let it sit for a few then restarted the car and it was fine. Took it out for a few minutes and gave it a lot of half throttle accelerations and no hesitation no backfire. Its been wet lately and with all the snow melting I'm really hoping the opti didnt get wet. Could this be something else and I'm jumping the gun? Please let me know, I can't afford to not have a car right now...

Opti's really aren't that hard to swap out if it is. I can bang out an f body one in less that an hour lol.

I believe mine keeps codes stored after you shut it off, Im not sure if its the same with 94s. I used a laptop and one of the free scanning programs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about the computers keeping the codes.
Check pressure at the rail as well, will tell you quick if its the pump.

I agree check fuel pressure, see if the code is stored and don't jump to conclusions about the opti.

Yea the code should be stored in the computer. Advanced auto parts will scan trouble codes for free. Start there
