700R4 / TH350 crossmember massage
spent a few hours futzing around with the cross members today.
Problem: the cross member i was using that is meant to be used with the PA Racing torque arm i have was in the way of my 3" exhaust pipes. So, i can use the PA Racing cross member and spend money to have the exhaust redone, ... or... Solution: i took apart the stock cross member for the 700R4 trans. Flipped the top piece around, made 2 cuts with a hacksaw, bent the middle part up and flat, drilled 2 new holes. Now i can use the stock cross member for both trannies should i ever put a 700R4 back in. [pic 1] [pic 2] [pic3]

I've actually seen people do that. I got the UMI swap crossmember though, very nice piece. Got any pics?

I would weld on some supports to the piece you cut. It WILL flex. I did something similar to a alternator bracket and noticed it was flexing causing my belts to spin off.
Looks good esp. once you add some suppports.
